The World Can Be a Cold Place - Dress Accordingly

The coronavirus pandemic has had a damaging economic and business impact, affecting everything from carmakers, airlines, restaurants, manufacturing, hotels, tourism, and many other organizations, businesses, and industries. The impact of the outbreak is punishing almost everyone worldwide. The fact is many people are going to have to reposition much of their life due to the vicious virus. If you have not been adversely impacted financially by the pandemic, consider yourself blessed. Many people are finding it very hard to maintain and sustain their livelihood or lifestyle. When you find it hard to pay your mortgage, rent, utilities, or credit cards, the world can be a cold place. When you find it hard to put food on the table to feed the people you care about the most in the world, the world can be a cold place. When you can’t find adequate shelter for your children to feel safe and secure, the world can be a cold place. When you no longer have a job or a way to generate income to take care of yourself and others, the world can be a cold place.

There is no question that life can sometimes be cruel and a tough pill to swallow. If you are not careful, this potent pandemic can consume you and plague your mind with fear, frustration, and failure.

What’s happening with COVID-19 you cannot change, but what you can change is how you respond to it. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by circumstances and situations we cannot change or control. Everyone in their lifetime will be asked to carry a heavy load, (i.e. the death of a loved one, financial setback, relationship issues, unemployment, or disappointment). What separates you from someone else is how you choose to carry that load. We must all learn to accept the things we cannot change, and change the things we cannot accept. You must accept your situation and change your outlook, and once you create that mindset, the world will seem less cold. This awful virus cannot be explained or changed, but you can change your perspective and adjust your expectations and dictate a new destination even if you cannot see where it will lead. If you want to change what is happening to you, then change what is happening in you.

Too many people would rather live with old problems than new solutions. They would rather be comfortable than courageous; they would rather curse the dark than light a candle. If you want to get your life back on track and find the path to personal and professional success, you do not have to look any further than the mirror. What is stopping you from getting a better job than the one you just lost . . . nothing. What is stopping you from starting your own business . . . nothing. Who can say you are not capable of being successful . . . nobody! Who can say you cannot reinvent yourself by reinvesting in yourself . . . nobody! There is only one person who can stop you from achieving your dreams . . . you. Too many people are drowning their dreams in the sea of why not, should not, did not, would not, have not, will not, and cannot. Remember, success comes in cans, not cannots. The most successful people do not necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have. If you think the world can be a cold place, then you should dress accordingly. You need to put on the coat of healthy self-esteem, the cap of encouraging self-confidence, and the gloves of positive self-talk. Tough times do not last, tough people do.

Please vote. The moral health and financial wealth of the country depends upon on it.
