World Briefing 2024

The new year may have only just started, but analysts have been hard at work for months examining trends in politics, economics and social change to produce cutting-edge outlooks and predictions for 2024.? With 83 national elections – including a potential second Trump term in the US – the continued growth of AI, and ongoing conflict hotspots in the Middle East, Ukraine and Africa, this year holds the potential for era-defining change.?

Ravi Mattu – Managing editor of DealBook, who joined 纽约时报 in 2022. During his time at the Financial Times, he covered the Hong Kong protests, the COVID pandemic, and reported as the US conducted their fateful withdrawal from Afghanistan.?
