World Aeropress Championships 2019

The humble aeropress is not just an awesome brewing device, that creates a delicious coffee beverage, but the Aeropress Championships held annually, are fast becoming one of the worlds' foremost advocates for Specialty Coffee competitions. Aimed at growing the industry by connecting coffee communities worldwide and locally through participation and awareness. Beneficial partnerships are formed between baristas, roasteries, coffee farmers and the coffee community all coming together for the good of the cup.

Wolff Coffee Roasters are again super excited to be hosting the Queensland Championships for the third year in a row. Collaborating closely with our Specialty Coffee Community, the creation of the much loved "Aeropress Poster" this year was run as a unique competition, with artists and creatives throwing their designs together with the hope of securing $500 prize winnings. Entries flooded in and through the power of the people vote a favourite was decided. Rising to the top was Artist Tiger Hsu, with his poster design symbolising "the Queensland Coffee Community being built on teamwork, with many passionate people helping execute a wonderful friendly competition". The Qld Aeropress Championships will be hosted on the evening of Tuesday 13th August, with competitor tickets filling up super fast and spectator tickets now available also if you want to witness firsthand the excitment of the Aeropress.

Baristas will face off in rounds using the aeropress to prepare and serve their coffee beverage to three accredited tasting judges. The best tasting coffee wins, with first prize champion being flown to the next level of contest, National Titles with the winner from that eventually facing off against the world’s best in London on November 24th.
