The World in 60 Seconds - November 15, 2016
Hey everybody, I'm Ian Bremmer. I have for you this week's World in 60 Seconds. Your questions all lined up, ready to go!
U.S.: Who will be Trump's Secretary of State?
I don't know. Why are you asking me questions like that? They say it'll be Giuliani but they haven't announced it an it's been more than a day. I suspect we won't like that person.
Obama: Does he get anything done in the lame duck?
Some foreign policy stuff wouldn't surprise me, on Israel and Palestine, for example. But generally speaking, it feels like a bit of a disaster in the White House these days, and not a surprise.
China: Are they worried about Trump?
Yes they are. And you can see that from their state media. There's not question that they want him to be much more articulate on trade, North Korea, and they want respect. Let's see if they get it.
France: Does Trump help Le Pen?
Absolutely. I'd say she has much more of a shot actually winning. Before Trump, no one thought that was possible.
Russia: Is Putin taking over Eastern Europe?
Not really. Look, at the end of the day, NATO allies are still going to be NATO allies. But if I were the Baltic states, I'd be concerned about hybrid warfare.
