The World in 60 Seconds: Brexit Edition
It's a very special Brexit edition of the World in 60 Seconds. Enjoy... (and all my love to the Turks!)
Brexit: Will the UK activate Article 50 this year?
Yes they will. No question. I don’t care what other people say.
UK: Will we ever hear from Boris Johnson again?
Yeah, but it’s going to be on like a celebrity reality show. That’s what I kind of expect.
UK: Who will be prime minister?
Theresa May, Home Secretary, looks most likely right now. Funny that she was in the ‘Remain’ camp, right? Who would’ve thought that? Certainly not Boris Johnson.
EU: Are they secretly happy about Brexit?
No, they’re not happy because it’s yet one more crisis that they have to badly negotiate through. But they’re going to be really happy to take Britain’s financial services jobs. Talk to France, talk to Italy, talk to Luxemburg for Christ’s sake.
US: Will Brexit matter for the election?
Yes, just as much as Obama mattered for Brexit—in other words, not at all! People aren’t voting on that.
Greece: Should they be nervous?
Always!
The World: Is anything good going on? Anywhere?
Yeah, I mean sort of, right? I mean China’s… The shoe has not dropped on China yet! That is the key point. Since 2008, the Chinese continue to grow, aren’t falling apart, politically stable.
There you have it. World in 60 seconds: Brexit Edition. See you guys later.
