Change is constant, and so should our will to adapt, the pandemic teaches us.
?It happened for the first time during COVID-19 that the corporate world paid attention to the physical
dimensioning of the work. It has been discovered that too much proximity as well as too much distance,
both are equally unhealthy for work culture as well as an individual's mental health. The pandemic
pushed employees and employers to adapt to a new work culture that is likely to stay for a long time.
Here are a few ways, workplaces would need to change to match the changing needs-
?1. Availability
People have worked from home for such a long time that they are used to accomplishing their work responsibilities along with their personal daily tasks easily. They had time to spend with their families and help at day to day chorus. They had learned to create a suitable work environment at home. So, now is the need to help them do that, if not all, atleast to some extent. The need makes it crucial to have retail facilities, gymnasiums, banking facilities close to the office and also cafes and restaurants so employees can catch up with their friends or plan a dinner with their family close to the office. This way they can save their travel time and live life a little more.
?2. Comfort

Over time, people have created their own comfortable spaces for working from home but that has again changed after offices started reopening. Getting employees willingly come back to work needs a little more effort now. They are used to the comfort of home and still getting their jobs done. Office spaces need to serve them the same.?
3. Privacy
People have realised the need to connect more with their loved ones. They need some quiet space where they can privately talk to their loved ones during the breaks. The need for such quiet spaces has increased tremendously and builders are keeping up with that to keep their workspaces relevant to the trending work culture.
4. Technology
?Accept or not, hybrid work mode is going to stay and with that, need for advanced technology and strong internet connections. Workspaces aren't going to succeed without these basic requirements.?
5. Health & recreation
One thing we all have realised is the importance of physical as well as mental health. One needs to incorporate some activities in their daily life to stay fit. A gym break, a walk by trees, 10-15 minutes of yoga, or playing an indoor/outdoor sport is something we should be adding to our building plans to make the workspace more efficient for our workforce.
?Let’s all look forward to a great work culture and cooler workspaces.
?Happy adapting!
