Workplaces are conversations

Workplaces are conversations

I am sure you feel the intensifying noise around the future of work. Things are changing. And by changing, I mean there are tectonic shifts in how we work together.?

We have left the pandemic lockdowns behind, which forced everyone to work remotely. Yet, we are still in panic mode.

Should we go back to the office? Should we figure out this thing called hybrid work? What is the office, anyway? What is asynchronous collaboration??

Meanwhile, experts popped out, helping others to figure it out. Most of them never worked remotely or managed remote teams. Yet, we have an abundance of voices.

I've talked with experts, leaders, managers, and companies daily. And the truth is: no one knows, but everyone is guessing at best.?

Just let me give you one example: documentation. It is the backbone of asynchronous work. It worked perfectly for GitHub and many other companies. On paper, it works for everyone. But not everyone is GitHub, armed with developers who are by default amazing in documenting their work. So how would you do the same with creative services? Should they just implement the same as everyone else? Is there an install it, set it, and forget it approach??

Of course not.?

I believe when we face disruption, the best way to cope with that is to seek support and talk to each other. Figure it out together. Share learnings, experiences, and best practices.?

Listening is not enough.?

Workplaces are conversations.

So with that in mind, I thought the best way to put some rocket fuel on conversations is to create a community where this is all possible.

A space where we share, support, and learn.?

This was the main principle behind creating Anywhere Hub, a community of leaders and managers of remote companies.?

Inside, I wanted to have three main pillars:

  1. Learning: abundant on-demand resources from frameworks, guides, templates, policies, videos, and more.?
  2. Share: even more content from community members, books, offers, tools, and more.
  3. Support: groups (Slack & LinkedIn) to discuss things and find support from each other.

I also wanted this community to be as inclusive as possible. So it is free to join and will be free to join forever.?

So if you are a leader or a manager of a remote company and want to either share your journey, improve your work, or find some support from others, join us.

We just launched yesterday. But we are already growing strong.?

Let's figure out how we work in the future. Together.

Peter
