Gender equality in the workplace has been a debatable subject for several years. It is morally correct to treat women and men equally. But the question is, up to what extent? According to World Bank reports for 2021, India, with the world's second-largest population, has roughly 47 crores of the working population. Due to the pandemic, the number fell precipitously in 2020. However, it has been growing steadily since 2021.?

The female labor force has been severely impacted. It is showing slow growth in almost every sector. With such a large population, a smaller female workforce will disrupt economic planning.?

China’s economy is the world’s second-largest, just behind the American economy. Being the most populous nation, China skilled its females as well and encouraged them to contribute to building their economy. This resulted in a rising standard of living among the lower class population, who were counted under the poverty line.?

The Indian government & several State Governments took the initiative to increase the female workforce, which is the most untapped population in our country. The rising numbers could help the economy grow at a rapid pace.?

Females are better planners & are also considered to be the best executors. Therefore, their contribution is vital from every standpoint.?

The days of struggling to find work or any source of income are over. Multiple job roles are introduced to the market, each requiring a unique set of skills. This has raised the bar for the rising standard of living in India.?

Women are the most disciplined when compared to men. Women prefer to live in a safe and secure environment. Therefore, they consider staying at a particular organization for a long. This makes a difference in the working environment of the organization. by

Industry Need

India is considered the "office of the world" because it provides a massive number of business process outsourcing services to the world. To cater to the world, hiring women is the best option, as they are skilled enough at multitasking.?

The most in-demand skills are in the IT & Tech support industry, which is mostly driven by software development, data processing, data analysis, graphics design, web development, tech support for the world, and a few more. These are the job roles that require a unique & creative mindset.?

According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Indian IT sector will employ 4.45 lakh more people in the fiscal year 2021-2022, totaling approximately 5.1 million direct jobs. Women will hold 36% of the available positions. The estimation further says it will create 12 million indirect job positions.?

Attrition Rate?

The year 2021 has witnessed mass resignations, with women at the highest rate of leaving their jobs due to several official reasons affecting them directly. The reasons include:?

When you earn more, the demand for particular goods & services rises. When earnings fall, so does demand. This will result in an economic slowdown that ignites inflation.?

Earning women spend a major portion of their income on their families. This increases the demand in the market for essential commodities with fewer essential elements as well.?
