Are these workouts really working or not?!??

Because I noticed I had gained a lot of weight last year, I began this year with an intense intention to at least lose some weight and look how I desired to look.

Hmmm, this goal sounds familiar, right???

All of you at this table, how is it going? We are in March already.??

Anyway, I am not here to judge you because both of us are at the same table.??

By the way, today’s letter will be short but very instructive. Ensure you read it till the end with rapt attention. (If you can say a short prayer before you continue, kindly do so.)

So back to my weight loss shenanigans…

Earlier this year, I did a couple of things you might not believe someone like me would do. (I’ll share in another letter, not today.)

Among the weird things I did, one major common thing I did was to start exercising as frequently as I could afford.

So I started…..

I witnessed consistency on my part but I wasn’t seeing as many results.

Until last week, when something happened while I was doing one of my exercise reps on a particular day…

My exercise plan has two options, high intensity and low intensity.

Before that day, I would usually do the low-intensity option because, in my head, I was a beginner at workouts and my body wouldn’t be able to take the high-intensity option.

So I stayed with my low-intensity happily.

On this particular day...

I started with low intensity as usual and I kept going.

Happy me, I was sweating and burning some calories (so I thought in my mind)…

Until at a point, I just decided to try the so-called high-intensity option.

I started with the low-intensity workout and eased into the high one.

AND GUESS WHAT?

I was not only able to do the high-intensity workout, I finished that rep using the high-intensity option!

It was when I finished the rep that I had to come to my senses and ask myself

Come, Haoma, do you realize that you just did the high-intensity workout?

Ah, this meant that I was ripe for the high intensity all this time, and I comfortably stayed with my low-intensity workout.????♀?

What a Loss!

Note Something:

If I had not tried the high-intensity option that day, I probably would never have realized that I had the potential to do it.

I would have continued doing the low-intensity workouts, thinking I was being consistent at something...

Not knowing that there was a certain level of intensity I had the capacity for, which I was missing out on. Hence my slow results.

During the free headshot/photoshoot I gave members of my 20 Days LinkedIn Growth Program, I overheard a particular lady saying in the make-up room, “Haoma has made me consistent on Linkedin.”

Immediately after I heard the word "consistent,” the whole memory of my consistent low-intensity workouts came to me and I decided to write this to you as a letter.

Note Something...

As people in careers, business, or whatever you do, you need to find the thin line between consistency and intensity.

Because this is what will make you see next-level results and outrun your competitors, one of which is your current self.

Some of you are too consistent with actions that are not intensified and that’s why it seems as though you are busy doing the work but not attaining the kind of results you desire~ Haoma Worgwu

This thing is deep! I hope you have the discernment to understand which part of your life this speaks to so that you can make immediate changes.

Just like me on my gym mat that day, you might be the one holding back on your next-level results (high-intensity workout) because you are consistently doing what you have gotten used to, in the way you are most comfortable (low-intensity workout).

Hmmm

What I simply mean is that some of you have passed the stage you are currently operating at.

And please, I am not motivating you! I am telling you the Reality!

Remember, I was getting some little results with my low-intensity workouts but who knows what would have happened if I consistently did the high-intensity one.

You would never know what is on the other side of an action you do not take. I am putting this out just in case you think I am talking to only those who aren’t seeing any results yet.

NO! I am also talking to you, who are seeing some results here and there, which you might be proud of!

It’s time to go beyond consistency to Consistency + Intensity.

Your consistent, comfortable action of today is the enemy of the results that a more intensified action will get you.
A lot of you have potential that ought to be CAPABILITIES by now.

Whaooooo. You spoke directly to me. I promise you am going to change my level of actions to be more intensified. I think consistency is a subtle way of complacency. We need to deal with it.

Indeed the Holy Spirit will provoke you left, right and centre until it sticks. Just a few hours ago, I came across a video talking about how when you start your walk with God, you are all lovey Dovey and you're thinking that's all there is, then boom, you're told you need to come up higher, as there are dimensions to this thing?? ha but I was comfortable just getting to know you Lord. This spoke to me indeed, not just with my spiritual journey, even with my consistency with posting on LinkedIn and all. I just learnt that there is more to consistency which is intensity, so it's not just enough to be doing it, at what level am I operating on? Thought ?? provoking. Haoma Worgwu thank you.
