WorkJam: My 5-Year Review
I joined WorkJam 5 years ago, today.
Before WorkJam, I worked with professional athletes — Von Miller, Derrick Johnson, Chad Greenway, Ryan Kerrigan, and other NFL veterans — to bring their non-profit foundations to life. We provided free eye exams to thousands of kids, distributed meals, built libraries, and paid medical bills. We helped a lot of people. Personally, I raised tons of money for great causes, was learning a lot, and had a great team of peers who stood by my side.
But there was always more. More need. More underserved communities. More families devastated by unexpected medical bills. More hungry kids.
The only way to make a sustainable difference was to do something that scaled. I decided to look for a mission-driven organization that would change the world. I wasn't going to let hyperbole get in my way... I meant it.
Enter WorkJam.
WorkJam connects frontline workers to HQ in a meaningful way—a potentially life-changing connection for many of our users. I joined WorkJam because of its ability to drive social change. Five years later, WorkJam delivers on that promise.

When I hear stories about frontlines workers who voluntarily pick up additional shifts through WorkJam, I think of the moms who welcomed food from me five years ago. Maybe this increased paycheck was finally enough to break the cycle. Flexible scheduling is more than a feature.
WorkJam creates the ability to learn more and grow a career. We enable communication that helps frontline workers stay in the loop with company changes. All of this has been integral for employees and employers during the pandemic — I'm proud to have supported businesses and employees during tough times.
Multiply this by millions.

For me, this is what it's all about. Helping people.
When I interact with WorkJam users in my personal life — and there is a good chance you've interacted with a WorkJam user — I can't help but think about how our technology has impacted their life.
But I realize that not every experience has to be life-changing. Maybe the way we helped was just to help punch out faster so a grocery store clerk could catch the start of a game on TV. No matter the improvement, a happy worker is a happy worker.
And the world needs a little more happiness.
