The Holy Month of Ramadan has finally come. Muslims around the world are refrained from consuming food and drink from the time the sun rises until it sets. During this moment, our eating, sleeping, and praying habits usually experience quite big changes. These changes can affect our energy and work quality and can lead to decreased productivity. However, there are some things that we can do to stay motivated and productive while fasting.?

Eat properly and stay hydrated?
People can fast for more than 13 hours per day during Ramadan. Hence, we need to eat balanced and nutritious meals that include fruits, vegetables, fiber, protein, and carbohydrates to maintain our energy levels throughout the day. Besides the type of food, it is also recommended to watch your food portions to prevent overeating. Overeating will make you sleepy and cause you to lack energy during the day.?
There are some people that can go without caffeine in hand to boost their day. However, sugary and caffeinated drinks should be avoided as they can lead to dehydration. Try to drink 1-2 glasses before having meals to keep you hydrated. Taking care of your physical health will help you maintain energy and motivation throughout the month.?
?
Make a planner and manage your time?
Making a to-do list is essential, especially during Ramadan. It can sometimes be difficult to stay focused during the day with many distractions. Try to move the difficult tasks to the top of priority so you can finish them first in the morning while your mind is still fresh. Make a list of important tasks and prioritize them in order of their urgency. Plan your day to be as busy as possible to prevent you from being lazy at work while fasting. Try to stick to your routine even when you're feeling tired or unmotivated. Little did you know that being focused on your work can make you forget about the thirst and hunger you are experiencing and focus on completing the various responsibilities on your schedule.?

Maintaining 7 to 8 hours of sleep is hard even during regular days. Even so, we need to get enough rest and sleep during Ramadan. To get rid of the laziness of working while fasting, you should sleep immediately after praying at night. Avoid staying up late or working overtime while fasting, because it can cause you to lose sleep and reduce productivity. If possible, take a power nap to recharge during the day. It is said that a 30-minute rest can help restore mental fatigue, enhance performance, and boost information retention five-fold.??
