The PRactice is delighted to partner with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to enable access, discoverability and digitalisation of Indian languages on the internet as part of a major initiative we are driving - the Indian Language Internet Alliance (ILIA).
Indian language internet users are expected to grow at a CAGR of 18% to reach 536 million by 2021 which will account for nearly 75% of India’s internet user base. This indicates that 9 out of every 10 new users in India over the next 5 years are likely to be Indian language users.
The real success parameter for achieving the estimated growth will only be reached if Indians can access the Internet in their local languages.
As a major milestone, we are today hosting the first national event - Bhashantara. The event is being represented by a diverse set of over 300 stakeholders from the Indian languages ecosystem in presence of a high level participation from the Government of India.
