Air travel is a big part of my job, and I enjoy the valuable face-to-face interaction with customers, business partners and colleagues. As airlines navigate how to return to the skies, doing so safely is the top priority. At the same time, airlines and others in the aviation supply chain, including Shell, have a joint responsibility to cut emissions.
Shell’s aim is to lead and thrive through the transition to a low-carbon future. But we cannot act alone. In the aviation sector, we are working with our customers to understand what a net-zero emissions future could look like, and how we can support them.
We’ve taken important steps this past week.
First, a new strategic alliance with Microsoft where we will explore working together to help accelerate the aviation sector’s decarbonisation journey, starting with advancing the use of sustainable aviation fuels.
Second, an agreement with Neste to bring an increased supply of sustainable aviation fuel to customers.
Finally, launching Flightpath – our new conversation series that brings leading aviation experts together. Do listen in to hear industry perspectives of how the sector can decarbonise with solutions ranging from using sustainable aviation fuel, to increasing fuel efficiency and improving aircraft designs.
These are positive steps as we work to reduce emissions, and show what we can achieve by working together.

4 年Carlos, I have been following the development of SAF and great to see Shell working to get out in front. We have such a rich history in the worlds aviation development (great place to have worked) and the next generation definitely wants to explore the world and do it in a responsible manner. Don’t stop!
