This quote from @ruthkudziand @amotherbrand insta page has really resonated with me. Particularly as I'm watching various different female founders juggle maternity leave and running businesses and it's inspiring to see how we can all find different versions of it.
Despite a sometimes glossy social media presence - I’m not a superwoman. The last six months were tough and I worked hard and fast right up until the birth of my baby. When I planned out my year, I engineered the business so I could take time out once I’d given birth. (And this was before I even knew we would spend three weeks needing critical heart surgery for baby in GOSH).
My business priority right now is giving myself some time off to work ON my business. I’ve always struggled to build my own brand whilst juggling client work. Now, I have time to step back in anticipation of my book and the other exciting new projects I’ve got launching in 2020. It means that I'm my own client, if the baby doesn't sleep and I don't want to show up - I don't have to. And it doesn't even feel like work because I am lucky to be in a position where I love what I do, so being able to keep doing something I feel good about is essential for my own personal growth and ambition.
So, if you need help refreshing your insta, podcast cover, brand refresh, website overhaul then Hadrien is badgering away on the brand & design arm. And, I’m still here shouting loud and proud about what I do with my triple insta megaphone ?? but don’t be fooled. I’m most likely in pj’s having newborn baby snuggles behind the scenes.
I am also doing the odd speaking event and I’m punching well above my weight for the International Women’s day line-up @ga_london - the link is here: https://generalassemb.ly/education/how-she-got-there-an-evening-with-female-entrepreneurs/london/83326
Come and say Hi! because I really don’t get out much.
