You might well have heard, but in case you haven't, we are hiring at LVB Recruitment. For me, one of the most important considerations when assessing a new career opportunity is gaining a real understanding of the demands of the job and the expectations that a future employer may have. That's why I wanted to give you the inside track on day to day life here at LVB Recruitment.
One of our major strengths is that, as a privately owned consultancy, we have the flexibilty and agility to adapt and innovate quickly. Something not always possible in a large national or multinational organisation. How frustrating is it when you see a solution to a problem, but are unable to implement it until it passed through the corporate bureaucracy which seems to be commonplace in large entities?
Here at LVB we are solution-focused, if you see something that could be changed for the better, then you can state your case and (once successfully demonstrated) get on with improving things! Having the autonomy to really shape the business is one of the best things about working here at LVB. Everyones contribution is valued, and actively encouraged.
We do not believe in pigeon holes, (we are sure that they exist, but believe that they are best used to hold mail, rather than people!), instead we look to recruit talented individuals and allow them to forge their own career with help and support. In practice this means that we do not look for a 'Finance Recruiter' or a 'Sales Recruitment Consultant' we are looking for people with passion, drive and determination, along with the enough commercial acumen to spot opportunities, or emerging markets and take ownership of them. It's great if people have a background in a particular industry that we believe will compliment our team, but we are equally interested in people who can carve out opportunities for themselves in new areas.
Our best employees are those that have an innate talent for spotting opportunity, and the maturity to convert those opportunities into revenue streams. We provide all the tools and support needed to develop a successful desk, but we are not huge fans of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). You will not be required to hit a set of KPI's just to 'tick a box'. Instead we focus on end results, which for us is happy clients and happy candidates, which naturally leads to a healthy revenue stream.
On a day to day basis there are certainly activities that need to be competed in order to be successful, all of our consultants are responsible for winning new business, developing our candidate relationships and achieving revenue targets. But we do not believe in prescribing a particular way of doing that, as long as our company ethos is observed. Consultants are encouraged to develop their own way of working and managing their daily activities as we realise that some people are natural 'telephone warriors' whilst others are equally effective using digital media and email. However you choose to run your 'desk' we will support you, provide guidance and allow you to grow professionally. If you are successful, we are successful!
