Working From Home ?
I shared something very similar to the below within my organisation, adapted it for everyone and here you go ... enjoy :)
As many of us are working from home in this global crisis, let me first show my appreciation to all those who are still leaving their homes to provide important service, our doctors, nurses, police, civil protection and supermarket staff among others. Thanks your contribution to the society is extremely valuable.
And you… at home, still working away contributing towards your company missions – on behalf on your organisation thanks for your flexibility and commitment. I'm sure it's not easy, some of you are juggling between children, cleaning the house, cooking and giving enough attention to the significant others.
Go put the kettle on make a tea/coffee and come back to read.
#StayUpdated
As hard as it may be, limit yourself to the number of times you check all the news sources, as you look for the number of increasing cases, or what doctors and Governments are claiming all over the world. Do not overwhelm yourself, stick to a few times a day and make sure the sources you choose are reliable.
#StayConnected
Social distancing does not mean we cannot stay connected – video calls are an effective way of reaching out to others, for support and to make us feel less alone. (A couple of videos have been going around, so make sure you are decent when on camera :))
Organising a 10-minute chitchat meeting with colleagues is definitely a great way to have a break. (We normally do it at the coffee machines, so why not from home :))
Something I would like you all to keep in mind, is that sometimes behind the monitor we can’t always notice that someone has concerns, feelings and challenges, so I urge you all to be honest and transparent with your colleagues and leaders. Keeping in emotions and hiding in behind an email may increase any stress mounting inside.
#StayActive
Gym’s, Squash Courts, 5-a-side football pitches closed, we can all still be active. There are loads of workouts online you can follow, or you can always go for a walk away from crowds, and…a stretch break here and there should be done too!
An idea … who’s going to organise a WebEx or Zoom workout for the team??
#StayHealthy
Besides that it is important to be healthy, whilst on this semi lock down, use the time on your hands, to get into cooking healthy meals. Being stuck inside will have you running to the kitchen to snack or binge. Stop yourself and stick to balanced meals. Share recipes with your colleagues too, why not ?
#StickToRoutine
Keep to your routine or create a new one once you manage to adapt to this Covid-19 new reality. Sleep, wake up, eat, shower, workout, have virtual chats with your colleagues at similar times daily. A routine will help you manage your days and help you adapt faster once things start going back to normal
Finally, do not forget to make time for yourself and loved ones, laugh and share jokes. Hopefully at the end of this crisis we would all be eager and stronger to get back to the normal routines.
I wish all great health and happiness!
