WORKING FROM HOME MAGIC

WORKING FROM HOME MAGIC

Productivity keys I’ve Learned from 25+ years and earning several $Million$ building global teams from Home.

Five Potential Pitfalls to AVOID

  1. Staying in pajamas/sweats all day -vs- dressing for success: It resonates through everything we do. My late Mom, Betty Rose was a shining example of what this looks like. No matter how she felt, she would put her "power clothes" on and tackle her daily tasks with a sense of power and undeniable confidence. Yes, have those days when you unplug and totally recharge. Just remember, on our power days...our self image will either add to or take away from our ability to show up as the leader we were created to BE, and the Leader that other Leaders are looking for!
  2. Going back and forth on multiple devices: Be wary of giving everyone else permission to derail our success - remember, Every Distraction is Equal!
  3. Being ruled by things that are not essential, yet pressing: I highly recommend the book "The One", by Gary Keller. It explains the power of focusing on what truly matters, in your work day! My goodness did this book clarify what being highly productive looks & feels like.
  4. NOT Sharpening the Saw: A man came upon a man sweating profusely as he attempted to saw a tree down for firewood. You notice that the saw is as dull as butter knife. Though when we suggest that he sharpen his saw. He looks at us like we just fell off the side of the planet, and says..."Can't you see, I'm too busy! I don't have time for that!" A bit ludicrous is it not? Though, we can all fall victim to this if we're don't carve out and commit to learning on a daily basis.
  5. Allowing our story(s) to stop us from moving forward: Re-write our mental stories that we tell ourselves, to support our goals and vision. Versus allowing them to convince us what is seemingly impossible.

Five Fundamental Actions that Lead to BE'ing Highly Productive:

  1. Have a ritual that grounds us: Keep it simple, yet easily do-able.
  2. Treat it as if we were walking into the office: Maintain a level of professionalism, BE the Leader you expect others to be.
  3. Set aside a time block for each key activity: And honor that, stay fresh.
  4. Create a space that supports our Goals/Vision: Images, music, light, aromatherapy, etc…
  5. Create accountability in a number of ways: Having to bring a key contribution piece to our next virtual or face to face event. Working up and showing up with an associate/business partner, etc…

My kids started their "distance schooling today" one of the steps we took was treating the school day like a normal one. Up at 7:30 get dressed, sit at a table, follow a schedule.

Wonderful tips Robert! I think that time blocking is really important right now - it's easy to let an entire day go by. So getting organized with tasks and setting a time limit, and as you said, 'honoring that,' is a habit worth forming.
