Working from home can be such a struggle!
I am a wife, a mom, and a marketing coordinator who really does not enjoy working from home. my home for me means a place to relax and unwind and having to change is the biggest struggle I had to face. for the 1st time in my professional life, I had the privilege to work from home last year march due to the covid pandemic.
like most young people it was 1st exciting! It meant I did not have to wake up early, dress up and drive to the office, and that I would have more time for myself and my family.
when reality kicked in I found myself working long hours, feeling very anxious and depressed. everything changed and everything interfered with everything, lines are crossed and boundaries become non-exixtant. I needed to learn to separate the mom from the wife from the marketing coordinator to try to keep the balance. working hours changed and for me, that meant I attended meetings during the day and be a mom and wife, and try to get my work done while everyone is sleeping at night.
I am an extroverted person who loves all the good vibes I get from interacting with people at the office, which brings me balance and keeps me sane, I would take working at the office any time and it honestly really works for me mentally and emotionally. I am a creative head so for me, my head needs to be focused to a certain level to have my creative juices flowing.
we all have different working mechanisms that make sense to us and mine involves human interaction and random coffee chats with colleagues and different types of energies.

3 年Thank you for this honest post. And yes, while I hear that some people who are introverted really benefit from working at home, it can be a challenge for extroverts because of the very same reasons. And i think you forgot to mention that you also had to be a teacher/kindergartner. ??
