Working from home?
This trend has come to stay and frankly I’m glad, I’m enjoying every benefit of it but… It is always perfect? No. Let’s talk about that.?
I have worked 100% face-to-face, 100% remote and with a hybrid flexibility and my choice is the third method of work.?
Let’s review why I did chose this.?
When you are working face-to-face it is more difficult to have flexibility, it difficulties keeping a good balance between your private life and your work life, you have to prepare food, to have a more organize schedule and you have to spend time driving to work and pay for the gas… The last one is more than ever an issue to take in to account. This reasons could drive us to say let’s change, work from home and you won’t have to suffer any of this problems... And it is true,?you wouldn’t be suffering any of this, but you would have to confront another type of issues that in my opinion could affect heavily in your work.?

When you work from home you have more freedom, and it is fine, enjoyable, but, what happens when you have a problem and any of your coworkers is answering Teams? You suffer other types of problems. Sometimes it is bad communication, sometimes it’s bad internet, others different schedules between partners, even a bad plan to teach and welcome newcomers and of course you will have to deal with delays because of this and it could make you less effective. If we center our attention in other area, working always alone, If you don’t have a nice social support net could affect to your emotional health and it could lead to depression.
In my opinion when you are a Junior it is even worse because you need a lot of support and see how the team interacts and learn in site everything you can until you can do it alone.?
That's why I prefer the hybrid method. You have the benefits of both ways of work. You can lean on your co-workers and you can keep a healthy life with a good balance and a strong environment to maintain your mental health in shape. The important meetings should be scheduled on face-to-face days to discuss and share everything and the remote days should be booked to work effectively in the confort of your own home.
Of course this is just an opinion so... What do you think??

2 年As you say, I believe that 100% remote work is very effective and beneficial for those senior profiles who have a high degree of autonomy in their day-to-day life along with full responsibility for meeting deliveries on time. I have also worked in all 3 modalities throughout my career, and only now that I work 100% remotely can I completely decouple the location of my company from the place I choose to establish my home, sell my car and use public transport more when needed... you know... the next level in quality of life.
