Working at/from Home is Not Right for You ?
Pandemics had disrupted the way we worked, and how global companies operate.
Working from home is the new trend. The bigger change was witnessed by the women.
A welcoming approach for sure.
What do you think of this trend?
For many, the ability to set your own hours and work from the comfort of your own home is a much-coveted position. Office employees often lament to their work at home counterparts, who seem to have freedom and flexibility to complement their salaries.
But as the common saying goes, the grass is greener on the other side.
Working at home is not for everyone, and for some, may even be a nightmare. If you’re looking to make the switch, consider whether the following applies for you:
You Lack Motivation
This is one of the main factors that determine whether the individual is able to work-from-home. If you lack the drive or need someone looking over your shoulder, then the independence granted to work-at-home professionals may be overwhelming.
However, there are ways to help you decide whether motivation will be a major factor for you.
Are you able to stay productive while at the office?
Does your role require a great deal of direction and oversight by others?
The answers to these questions can help you gain a better idea of your prospective performance levels.
You Don’t Communicate Well
To ensure that your work-at-home position is successful, you’ll need to make sure you keep channels of communication as open as possible.
One of the dangers that many managers face with work-at-home or telecommuting employees is ensuring that they’re actually working. If the employee fails to respond or leaves an email unanswered for too long, then this can signal warning signs in their heads.
Therefore, make sure you stay as responsive as possible, and send them constant updates on your progress and projects. With enough time, you can build up enough trust, allowing you to maintain an autonomous position.

Thank you?….You get easily distracted
While at the workplace, do you often stare out the window or get caught up in conversations?
Working at home may prove to be a more challenging experience for you. With phone calls, errands, family responsibilities, and so on, it can be difficult to stay on task completely.
And if you’re working exclusively online, then the distractions on the Internet can further sap your productivity. Without the guidance of coworkers and managers around you, you may end the day, wondering where the time went.
You’re a People Person
Do you like to talk to people, working in a position where you’re face to face with customers and coworkers?

If so, then working at home can be a lonely move. Often, positions that fall under the “work-at-home” label are due to their relative independence and lack of direction.
Writing, graphic design, and telemarketing are some examples of typical jobs that would fall under the work at home category. If you’re looking for a work at home job that still connects you with others, then looking for customer service or sales position may be better suited for you.
While working from home offers a lot of benefits, it also comes with its fair share challenges. Before you decide to work remotely, take inventory of your personality and skillset, and make sure that this sort of work arrangement makes sense for your temperament.
Do you want to add a word or two?....
Even though working from home has many positive attributes, it does require a particular type of personality and skillset to make it as a successful work-at-home employee or entrepreneur.
Do you have what it takes to be a successful work-at-home woman?
Your Comments……Critical Thinking
To make it as a home-based worker, you need to be able to work independently with very few directions. As a home-based employee, you won’t have the luxury of co-workers sitting next to you, so many times, to may need to figure out issues for yourself. If you’re the type of person who prefers more guidance, working at home may not be an ideal situation for you.
Excellent Communication Skills
Because you’ll be doing your work or business remotely, you’ll need to have excellent communication skills, because often you won’t have the visual and verbal cues that help guide a conversation.
Although smartphone apps and programs like Skype make it easy for people to stay in touch, the majority of your communication will be done via email. So you will need to make sure that you can covey what you mean clearly and concisely.
Self-Motivated
One of the advantages of working at home is the ability to create your ideal schedule. But if you’re not motivated, you may find yourself sleeping in too many days in a row and not getting your work done.
Working from home requires that you’re able to work independently, and because you won’t have a boss looking over your shoulder, you need to make sure that you can stay on task.
Able to Avoid Distractions
Household chores, pets, TV, and family members are just a few of the distractions you’ll encounter when you start working at home. Planning ahead will be key – having readily available snacks for consumption, planning children’s activities or having childcare arranged, and having a separate office space can all help minimize distractions, but ultimately, it is up to you to stay focused.
Comfortable with Social Isolation
Even though you can work at your local coffee shop, or you can hop on Twitter and socialize, the majority of your time is going to be spent all by yourself. If you’re a social butterfly that requires a lot of social stimulation, working at home may cause you to go stir crazy, or it may even make you feel?socially depressed.
Organized and Balanced
Maintaining balance is one of the most challenging aspects of working at home because the work is always right there staring you in the face.
To keep you on track (and not working too much or too little), organization will be essential.
To help keep you on track, you will need to get very organized, everything from filing systems and daily to-do lists, to keeping track of finances and emails.

2 年Hilarious pics. I think that those with kids struggle the most with working from home. On a positive note, covid forced businesses to rethink how we work, and allow for work-life balance, which if not abused, can increase productivity.

You will need to know everything from learning how to use different software, to updating programs and keeping your computer running smoothly. A broken-down computer or internet connection equals no work getting done, so you will need to be able to navigate your way through tech issues and concerns. By knowing your personality and skillsets, you’ll be able to determine if working at home is the right path for you. While some of these skills can be learned, others are more difficult to overcome. Take a personal inventory and be honest if you have the right mindset and skills to work from home. What other skills and personality traits are needed to successfully work-at-home?
