Working as an Advisor Team

Just as we advise our clients to plan for their future, we too must plan and structure our practices to deliver quality service to our clients. Over the last few years, we have implemented an “Advisor Team” approach, which has allowed us to better serve our clients today and for years to come.

Rocco has always focused on retirement planning, tax planning and risk management within the family market, including business owners and professionals. His clients have grown with him through the years, with many now having adult children and grandchildren of their own.?

Although Rocco and Ryan work jointly on client accounts, Ryan focuses much of her time working with younger clients just starting their careers, saving for a home, or starting their families. This is a demographic she can relate to, which allows the team to help them navigate what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming journey.

With this group, we have been active in discussing the new First Home Savings Account (FHSA), Education Savings Plans for their children’s future education, and starting their own retirement savings plans, while illustrating the cost of waiting until later in life. We also discuss risk management solutions including life insurance, critical illness insurance, long-term disability and health plans so that unforeseen health events are not financially catastrophic to them or their families.?

Working as a larger team has also allowed us to adopt newer technologies and processes to continue providing our clients with a high level of service. At our clients’ request, most of our meetings are now virtual, allowing us to connect with a larger client base across Ontario and nationwide. We rely heavily on electronic signature and application tools for mutual fund and insurance business and have strongly encouraged all mutual fund clients to register for Investia’s client portal. Lastly, we completed our migration to Microsoft 365, meaning our office is 100% paperless, permitting greater flexibility to work remotely when required. Adopting these digital tools has allowed us to introduce an electronic newsletter and social media channel to solve for an increased need of more timely communication and updates.

Shifting to an “Advisor Team” model has created new opportunities to expand our practice and better serve our clients in ways that we could not do independently.
