Is the workforce in the fitness and leisure industry happy...

That is probably the million £ question. It is probably one of the most important questions we need to ask as our ability to attract and retain the best talent is crucial in the growth and success of not just individual organisations, but the entire sector.

I believe that we aren’t simply fighting for consumers and their disposable income against other sectors like hospitality, retail, spectator sports etc but we are also competing against these sectors for talent. ?

The team at Love Recruitment recently completed our 2nd?Pulse survey where we asked the industry (we received over 500 respondents) a series of questions to gather the “pulse” of the workforce of our sector. One of the questions we asked was to gather an Employer NPS from the respondents.

In essence, we wanted to understand: will they recommend their employer to their friends/family?? ? The overall?score was 69?(an improvement from 62 in 2022). The data in my opinion isn’t complete and we can’t really say whether this is a great, average, or poor indicator. However, there are a few things that I would recommend on the back of this.

  1. We should monitor this number on a yearly basis.?
  2. We should try to compare this with data from other industries.
  3. Companies in fitness + leisure should do internal surveys to see where they stand against the industry.?We can help with this.

If you would like to discuss any of this in more detail, please do get in touch. Also, you can download a copy of the pulse survey via the link?here.?

I hope you find the report useful and if you need anything else, please do let me know.
