One fine day, Alie woke up to realize that the world around her had collapsed. She still rushed to work to fulfill her commitments. She tried hard to keep up with her smile and energy. All seemed fine at work till she lost her cool to some extent on a call. She hurt her team member Bob. On a normal day, may be she would have not reacted the same. After the call, Alie realized her mistake and called back Bob to apologize but Bob never picked up that day. The next day, Alie dropped him a message: 'Apologies for hurting you. I was not my best self.' Nevertheless, Bob was an impulsive person and decided to move on from his job. Alie and Bob never got to speak again. Alie was Bob's manager and truthfully informed her boss Julia about the incident. Julia was furious at Alie as Bob was one of the critical resources. Alie's career growth slowed down and she had lost 3 long years in guilt till her counsellor Jerry read out the following to her from Bob's FB post:
'As a people manager, I experienced my first employee separation case today. It was painful and reminded me of what happened with my manager 3 years back. I had lost one of my close friends that day and was not in my best form. I decided to move on and never talked to my manager again. But, today, I realize what pain she might have gone through. I wish I had replied back to her message and at least had a conversation with her.'

Guess what Alie did next ? She messaged Bob: 'I am super happy & proud to learn that you are a manager now. You can be a mentor to your team member for life. It does not need to end at your current workplace. Feel free to reach out to me in case you ever need anything.'
