If it worked for Dracula maybe it'll work for you
>> Sadly the great vampire not at home today.
I don't need to tell you one of the hardest things to sell now is tourism.
But winners never quit, and quitters never win.
One winner I know is Raluca from Romania.
She came to one of my seminars and has kept in touch ever since.
Here's an e-mail she sent her list on Monday.
Drayton,
Does it feel like a happy new year? I really hope so.
If not, maybe these Romanian traditions will bring a smile on your face.
In Romania, the priest blesses your house on the 6th of January. Using a basil bundle he splashes holy water all around. And any unmarried girls get to steal some of the basil which they put under their pillow.
... if they're lucky, that night they'll dream about their future partner.
During the day, some girls make - and only eat - a special, very salty bread.
At night, the man who brings them water will become their husband.
I've never eaten salty bread. But I did put basil under my pillow.
Does it work? I can't really tell although my grandma swears that it does.
Best,
Raluca
PS: I'll wager Romania has a ton of things you don't know. Let me know if you want to find out more. Do it now, before something else gets in the way.
People love stories. Do you use them?
They also love good advice.
Here's what she says about the benefits she gained from my seminars and Ask Drayton.
Your work is very helpful. I take time to study it every week. It never stops to amaze me.
One thing we did more during the pandemic is write more often; it helped and now we will keep doing it. Let me know when you come to Romania!
- Raluca
Maybe you'll get the same benefits - who knows - but what she has done and I advise you to do is Don't Quit.
Many people during the Covid period have given up, faded away, closed down, collapsed in misery.
That leaves more for the rest of us when things brighten up
Raluca continues to communicate, telling stories, keeping people interested.
She describes the delights of what she offers...
Always bespoke, in quaint little guesthouse including Prince Charles’s private residence in Eastern Transylvania, with a focus on experiences such as meeting craftsmen (beekeepers, Gypsy blacksmiths, people who know medicinal plants, brickmakers, etc), spending time in nature (walking, hiking, horseback riding, etc) and no Dracula although we can rent his castle for private events.
Are you doing what she does?
I hope so.
I have redoubled my efforts during this terrible time, and we seem to be chuntering along.
I hope the same is true of you, but if you're struggling to hit the spot Maybe AskDrayton will help.
I know we can help.
Best,
Drayton
