The first edition of the Workbooks Monthly Newsletter is here. Each month we will be updating you on all things Workbooks. This month we will be showcasing the unfortunate defeat of our Workbooks football team in their recent charity tournament, and, our Marketing Directors thoughts on the recent release of Alice de Courcy’s book ‘A day in the life of a First Time CMO’ and how it’s inspiring our team.??

Well, it's official - the Workbooks football team won't be giving Cristiano Ronaldo a run for his money anytime soon! Our team gave it their all in the Business Fives charity football tournament, but unfortunately, victory was not on our side this time. But hey, it's all about taking part, right? And we can take comfort in the fact that we helped raise over ￡500 for the Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre. Plus, we had some shining stars on our team, with Marketing Director George Toner and Sales Manager Sam Anderson scoring the goals of the day. Maybe next year we'll bring in a football manager and come back with a vengeance! Until then, we'll just have to stick to our day jobs and leave the football to the professionals.

Earlier this month, the CMO of Cognism Alice de Courcy released her book, ‘The diary of a first time CMO’. Our Marketing Director George Toner was lucky enough to receive a copy just in time for world book day, “whilst I'm yet to finish the book, I have found what I have read useful, there a lot of valuable and relatable insights,” said George. “There is an entry around ‘getting it live’ which talks about how marketers are guilty of pushing campaigns back to perfect them, or creating busy work which wastes time. How can we add value when our work isn’t live? Alice has a great mantra: ‘done is better than perfect’." With many of us working in fast-paced environments maybe this mantra is something to remember when executing campaigns.

Workbooks Customer Conference:

On the 18th May, the Workbooks team will be welcoming our customers to the Ham Yard Hotel, London, for our annual customer conference. We will spend the day exploring all the new features and functions of workbooks and hearing from current customers about how Workbooks creates value. The team are also very excited to welcome our keynote speaker former RAF pilot Mandy Hickson. Mandy Hickson pioneered the movement of women into the RAF and was the second female to fly a Tornado GR4 on the front line. As a trained Human Factors facilitator with the Civil Aviation Authority, Mandy uses her in depth knowledge of aviation, calculated risk taking, decision making under pressure and the critical role of the human in the system to transfer these lessons from the cockpit to the corporate boardroom.
