Work is Worship...
I took a small health break and this is what I realized.
In the past 2 weeks, I have been in recovery mode from a small health issue. Along with being on medication and making some diet changes, I was asked to take rest if I wanted to get back in full swing. With my family not allowing me to touch a single work at home, I was left completely useless. So I decided to read, write, watch TV and after doing a lot of that many times over, I realized, how important my work is to me. Without it, I'm nothing. The pace, noise, speed, calls, emails...all that people complain about, is something I completely missed. So I started taking on things I knew I could do from home and thankfully work came along.
My work defines me, it is me. I love its responsibility and I love its return. I love its hustle and I love its calm. I've heard people say, they want a life where they can sit around doing nothing. Trust me, relook at what you do, for when you feel driven by your work, every minute that goes by doing nothing will be painful and every minute spent at work, irrespective of how heavy it was, will be pleasing and totally satisfying. Perhaps that's what they call Passion after all.
As I make my way back to health, I can't wait to take on every task that awaits me. I wish you the same or more enthusiasm in all you do.
Thank You Shalini I am glad you are feeling better health wise...there are stages....and love of work is one, remember and your health issue is a reminder that Life is what your are living...not your career though you love it so.? I was at that stage once maybe two+ decades ago, real over worker loving it, but I have realized that there is a universe of other things I must focus on....and family being foremost....life is short..shoot for balance...the turtle always wins the race and the rabbit may dance for a bit....but it is the long and winding road that we must patiently follow...and love to be part of.
