Work Smarter, Not Harder in YOUR Hotel

Would you like to improve your work performance around the Hotel? If so, then this article is for you. Just implement the advice as you see appropriate. What matters the most is where you take action!
Try Using a Timer I noticed that one of the best ways to improve my focus when carrying out important work was to work with a timer. Create “mini-deadlines” and you’ll find yourself more driven to achieve them.
Plan your Hotel Week Spend 15 minutes at the beginning of every Hotel Week planning the biggest goals for the week. This way you know exactly what you should be focusing on over the next few days.
Have a daily or shift task list Now, there are some people who prefer having paper lists and there are others that prefer to follow the hi-tech route instead. Planning a task list shouldn’t be intimidating and really all that’s needed is 5 or 10 minutes.
Having these lists gives you plans to follow. So rather than just “floating around” during your Hotel week, give your time a clear direction. Plans also allows you to work on the important tasks that need to be worked on.
Saying “no” is not rude Too often we feel compelled to say “yes” to every request by someone else. However, when someone asks you to do something, you have the right to decline the request (however, be sensible). Just say “no” promptly, but gently.
Focus on one task at a time Keep working on one task and once you have achieved your goal, move on to the next task. However, try to avoid working on one task then switching to another, then back to the original one.
Always take small breaks (in other words, don’t just sit for hours in-front of a computer)
Set Work expectations for others Let others know how you operate. For instance, let others know how quickly you respond to e-mails, when you return calls, how often you publish content on your blog and what your working times are and when you are not available for work.
Drinking water has many health benefits. Research has also found that drinking water has productivity-enhancing benefits as well such as improved brain performance. So reduce your excessive amounts of coffee and drink more water around the Hotel.
Follow the routines of others Let’s say that it takes you one hour to do something. On the other hand, your colleague can complete the same task in half the time. Why not ask him/her about their way of doing things and then apply his/her practices to your work?
Ask questions Don’t get stuck with something you don’t understand. Keep asking questions to solve the Hotel Work Issues that you have. For instance, when I’m learning something new and I don’t quite get the concept, I ask the questions like, Why? How? What? Could you give me an example? Get past Hotel problems faster by asking questions.
Walk away from a task – and then return Sometimes I face a block in my work, and have difficulties continuing…No matter how much I try. The best idea (in addition to asking for help) is to walk away and then come back.
Be accountable Promise something to be delivered to someone else (your boss or your colleague) instead of agreeing on a deadline you made for yourself. It’s easy to skip the deadlines that you set with yourself, but it’s much harder to do this when other people are involved.
Know your why Do you know the reason why the task on your list exists? Or, why are you doing the task that you are currently doing? If asking why doesn’t give you any reasonable answer, you might then question if the task is worth doing in the first place?
Use checklists If you are doing recurring tasks (who doesn’t in Hotels?) and you want to make sure you get the same results every time, take some time for creating a checklist out of that task.
And finally, Learn your commonly used hotkeys I used to control my computer with only my mouse until I discovered the power of hotkeys. You should do the same: Learn the most common hotkeys in your daily applications and your computer usage will become so much faster.
