Work Smarter not Harder

Work Smarter not Harder

Ever notice that great leaders never report being too busy? Leadership equals influence supported by working smart. With continuous learning anyone can be a great leader.

Think about it this way (ref a great read: "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" – Covey):

Study the quadrants for a moment.

In which quadrant do you regularly reside?  Do you manage by crisis: say 90% in quadrant 1 only to rest with 10% in quadrant 4?  Or, are you stuck in quadrant 3 thinking you're in quadrant 1?

Who amongst you retreats from 3 or 4 because it is NOT IMPORTANT, decidedly spending time in quadrant 2?  Nice. That's where you need to be, at least a substantial chunk of the time.

Enclosed are some prior thoughts on how to get to quadrant 2, a lot of which I've stolen from great leaders :

  1. Time is Elastic: You Have Time
  2. INVESTED: A Distinctive Theme for 2020

Ask yourself... if you were to do one thing, that you know would boost your productivity, what would it be? (BTW - I bet it's in quadrant 2).

"Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein." - H. Jackson Brown
