Work, rest and love.
Or is there?

Work, rest and love.

Work has no ”purpose.”

A tree blooming in the spring has no ”purpose”.

It's something natural, essential and vital to create, to grow and express something inside.

"Purpose" may suggest an intention or an aim of the person doing the work. The mind, the ego, you know.

So let's look at work and especially today, at "hard work".

Where did you first learn about "working hard", that your career, craft or passion can likely be "difficult", "challenging", "painful and "hard"?

Who told you that?

And what did they know?

It's really 100% up to you to decide what everything is.

So maybe it's easy.

Maybe super fun and easy.

Here on "Labor Day" we celebrate "labor" by having retail sales in our always-on, always grinding it out world. Good thing AI and robots came along to push the retail train forward, as they never ask for a day off.

They never require rest.

So fellow human being, can you rest?

Rest your body, your mind and soul?

Does rest have a purpose?

Or is rest as natural as the clouds in the sky, the rotation of the earth?

Why do we rest?

(Beware where these ideas about work and rest came from.)

Do we rest in order to work? Or do we work in order to rest?

(A great USA vs Italy debate)

Can we work without depleting our joy?

And love.

Do you truly, deeply, genuinely love your work?

And then, is your work love?

Love doesn't need to rest.

Our bodies love to rest.

Love your body and bask in deep rest.

Love your mind and treat it like a lover.

Let love transform your work into joy.

Happy Labor Day.

(if labor you must, choose to decide that lt's easy and fun.)
