Work Placement Pilot

Cognitive Paths has been gathering evidence on effective employer engagement activities for learners aged 16 - 18 over the last nine months. The aim of our project has been to support 15 SME’s increase their productivity through the use of digital media, whilst giving 32 students a 2-week work placement experience in different sectors.

We have identified effective practice in employer engagement activities and will be publishing our report in 2018. Its findings will support the development of the proposed ‘transition year’ for learners with low prior attainment, included in the Government’s Post-16 Skills Plan, and a practical resource to help providers deliver effective employer engagement activities with this learner group.

If you would like to be involved in our next work-placements starting in March-April which will include a wide range of organisations that support young people, including -

further education colleges -sixth form colleges - independent training provider and voluntary organisations in Bristol.
