Top of the morning, Dear Subscribers,
Welcome to the 1st edition of 2025!
As we step into the rhythm of a brand-new year and return to our workspaces, there’s an undeniable energy in the air—a sense of possibility that only a fresh start can bring. Whether you’re recharging your routines or setting bold new goals, this is the perfect time to reflect, recalibrate, and embrace the opportunities ahead.
After all, the time is now…?
We at The K(Now) understand that our lives can change with just one idea, one decision, or one shift in perspective. More often than not, it requires a conscious effort to disrupt the routine we’ve grown accustomed to.
The boldest among us make that decision willingly, taking a step only they can truly understand. For the rest, change often comes through circumstances that leave no other choice. Either way, we all eventually realise that transformation doesn’t hinge on monumental overhauls. Instead, it’s the small, intentional changes that create a lasting impact.
This belief is the essence of The K(Now): empowering us all to take actionable steps toward a life of purpose, growth, and fulfilment. It’s a philosophy of purposeful progress—one that encourages reflection, inspires action, and helps us all realign with what truly matters.
Turning Purpose into Progress
A few days ago, I read several articles about Vinay Hiremath, the co-founder of Loom, who sold his company to Atlassian for $975 million back in 2023. Since then, Vinay has been on an inward journey epitomising the idea of finding purpose in transitions. While the obvious route might have been to dive headfirst into another venture, he chose to pause and reassess what truly mattered.
Hiremath reflects on how his life changed after the acquisition, as he continues to search for purpose in the seemingly existential question.
This shift in perspective from "what can I build next" to "how can I contribute meaningfully" is a powerful reminder that purpose evolves—and progress doesn’t always mean moving at full speed.
His experience reminds us that growth often requires stepping away from the noise, reflecting on our inner motivations, and realigning with our core values.
The last year has been a mixed bag for businesses and professionals and it’s these moments of introspection that help us all realign our priorities and think about what next. As creatures of habit, we love the familiar and we love certainty, however, I can tell you from personal experience that the magic is discovered in the uncertainty.?
Our appetite for risk will vary, but here are a few actionable steps to get us all going. And remember, when the journey seems the hardest, the light finds you.

The K(Now) Vantage… Ft. Vinay Hiremath
Pause to Gain Clarity
Hiremath’s story highlights the value of stepping back to reflect. Progress doesn’t always come from doing more; sometimes, it’s about doing less but with greater intention.
The K(Now) Takeaway: Schedule regular “purpose check-ins” with yourself. Dedicate time to reflect on what’s working in your life, what feels stagnant, and where you want to focus your energy.
Redefine Success
For Hiremath, success post-exit wasn’t about building another unicorn. It was about finding fulfilment in empowering others. By mentoring founders and investing in businesses he believed in, he aligned his actions with his new purpose.
The K(Now) Takeaway: Define what success means to you today. Write it down and revisit it periodically to ensure it reflects your evolving values and goals.
Balance Action with Introspection
Hiremath’s journey wasn’t just about stepping away—it was about using that time to realign his actions with his purpose. He didn’t stop moving; he shifted his focus to actions that resonated with his values.
The K(Now) Takeaway: After every major milestone, take time to introspect. Ask yourself: Is this still the path I want to walk? Adjust your actions to match your evolving goals.
Your K(Now) Year Awaits
2025 isn’t just a year; it’s an opportunity to step into your full potential, one actionable step at a time. The K(Now) isn’t just a platform; it’s a mindset—a reminder that the knowledge you seek and the life you desire are within your reach.
