Work To Make You Happy

Most people feel that in order to be happy, you need to make a bunch of money, have a huge home and drive some kind of fancy sports car. Happiness doesn’t come from the material items in your life, it comes from the experiences in your life and from your daily activities. One of those major activities that most of us do on a daily basis is work. So ask yourself, is your work making you happy?

Each and every person is different on what makes them happy. The only person on this planet that knows what truly makes you happy is yourself. Friends and family may be able to help you out a little as they may see your level of happiness increase during certain activities or events but you are the one who knows how you really feel. Having a job, business or career that makes you happy is not only key to success in life but it also dramatically improves your way of life.

Think about these two different scenarios and see which one you prefer. Person A works a job they hate. They do make $100,000 a year though, have a brand new home and a brand car sitting in the driveway. They also work approximately 60 hours a week and don’t spend much time with their families.

Lets take a look at person B. They work a job that they love going to each and every day. This job though only pays them $70,000 a year. They own a nice older home, work around 50-55 hours a week and spend a lot of time with family. There car is a few years old and is definitely not a top of the line car. Now think about both scenarios, if you could be person A or B, which would you choose and why?

A lot of people would instantly gravitate towards the person making more money. Those are the ones that think they need a bunch of money in order to be happy and work a job they hate to get that money. Don’t get me wrong, money is great and something we all should want more of but make sure in search of more money that you are staying happy.

Work is such a major part of our lives that you want to find something you truly love. If you are trying to start a business, the first few years are going to be a grind. You will make far less money usually then if you worked for someone else. The thing you have to ask yourself though is are you doing something you love and are you happier? Having a business or career you love will lead to plenty of opportunities because you are doing something your passionate about. It will keep you motivated each and everyday to succeed because you love what you do. Working to make you happy is not because of the monetary gain, its about filling your life with something that motives you and allows you to live the life you have dreamed of.
