Work is no longer a four-letter word: AI is here to give life, not replace it.

Fear mongering skeptics and white papers may lead us to believe AI is taking over the world…yet in this episode of Bytes and Banter, we hear quite the opposite narrative. Rather, the principles of Artificial Intelligence can be a catalyst to bring back humanity to work.??

Dan Turchin? started designing experiences for Disney in the 90’s and went on to champion seven different startups, all focused on using AI & Machine learning to improve the way people work. In his own words:??

?“I was put on this planet to help a billion employees have a better experience at work. I firmly believe every employee deserves to feel trusted, valued and respected and that there is a world of work that is frictionless.”?

Experiences at work that bring out the best out of people, is something we all strive to see. Friction comes in the guise of many masks. Administrative tasks, ID Card provisioning, meeting room size constraints, and countless other non “life giving” tasks.???

When you look at your calendar, what sucks energy from you? What do you get excited about? Friction is everything that saps your energy.?

Dan said it so well when discussing what this idea of leveraging AI and ML is all about for him:?

“Work is no longer a four-letter word. When you just get to do what you love. The thing that everyone of us feels we were put on the planet to do, and if we can do that unconstrained, gosh…that’s a world, not just a work but a world I want my kids to inherit from me.”??

We can use the power of data, Machine Learning and leverage AI to identify those things that drain energy from humans and cause friction that takes away from the thing we all strive to do – make a tangible impact in our world.?

What is that thing for you? That one thing that when you see it pop up on your calendar, it breathes life into every fiber of your being? AI isn’t going to replace you…it should make that thing more possible.?

?“I believe when everyone is doing the best work of their lives, any problem that we choose to tackle, any problem…not work related, no capitalist manifesto, whether it’s curing cancer or solving the client crisis or ending world hunger, when all focus on the work that we love and solving problems that we feel like we were meant to solve when we arrived on the planet, if I can contribute just a sliver, I’m all in.”
