Fusion startup Type One Energy gets $29M seed round to fast-track its reactor designs: Madison, Wisconsin-area startup Type One Energy announced last week that it raised $29 million in seed funding. The oversubscribed round was co-led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV), TDK Ventures and Doral Energy Tech Ventures. ?? InvestNext announces 8.25M Series A funding: Last week, Detroit-based startup InvestNext announced a $8.25 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Whitecap Venture Partners. The new capital will help advance the fintech company's goal to become the common platform for real estate investment. (InvestNext)

Rx tech startup sells majority stake for $40M, expanding in Columbus: GiftHealth Inc., a tech-enabled pharmacy based in Columbus, announced last week it sold a majority stake worth $40 million to Eir Partners. The Miami private equity firm focuses solely on healthcare tech and is taking a 51% stake. This values the startup at about $79 million. With the new partnership, GiftHealth plans to rapidly hire ahead of multimillion-dollar contracts that will start this summer. (Columbus Inno)
