The Work-Life Balance, Myth or Fact?

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, work-life balance is defined as “the amount of time you spend doing your job compared with the amount of time you spend with your family and doing things you enjoy.”

In the present world where employees are applauded for working at all hours of the day, where 40 percent of the people spend time on their computers after 10pm, it can be a challenge to find a balance between being effective at work and enjoying your personal time altogether. This makes creating work-life balance challenging, but is it impossible?

The answer to this question entirely depends on your priorities in life. It’s you who has the power to make that happen. Here are a few ideas to consider if you’re stressed.

If you feel your work is hindering your personal life, its time to talk to your boss. You can delegate work to other employees and share the load together. Firstly it’s important to speak up. Set boundaries for yourself, like no work before breakfast, or late at night, this will help you create space to enjoy your time too. Also if you give yourself time to recharge and do something for a change, you’ll be more productive at work. You’ll be able to focus better and be more efficient.

Work life balance is not just a buzzword. It is possible to achieve a balance. So go ahead and make it happen.
