Work-Life Balance

I have been on the road for several weeks, and although the constant travel,? bustling cities, conferences, and discussions on the latest trends in cybersecurity,? can be exhilarating, the return home as I have today is a moment of pure bliss.
The thrill of the outer world,?networking, sharing insights, and forging connections ignite a fire within me, fuelling my ambition and propelling me forward. Engaging with customers and partners helps broaden my perspectives and fuels my passion for innovation and I love it.
However, amidst this whirlwind, the significance of coming home to my sanctuary really cannot be understated. I am in familiar surroundings and the comfort of my personal space offers an unparalleled sense of belonging and peace.
Here, away from the corporate hustle, lies the opportunity for me to recharge my batteries, both physically and mentally. I have found over the years that unwinding, reflecting, and rejuvenating are essential for my long-term well-being, my creativity, and my productivity.
It's also in these moments of solitude, away from the hustle and bustle, that many of my new ideas bloom, solutions solidify, and my mind and body are restored.
This proximity of the fast-paced world and the serene haven of home underscores for me the crucial need for balance in our lives. While external engagements fuel many of our professional pursuits, the solace of home nourishes the inner self and allows for regrouping and refocusing.?
For me, this harmony between outward ambition and inward tranquility is key to navigating the complexities of modern life with grace and resilience.
To all of my followers, please remember this, and remember to take a break!
Don't forget to take time for yourself. You deserve that inner peace. Jaye Tillson

8 个月Very well said Jaye. I've followed you on your exploits and met you virtually. A candle burning at both ends expires twice as fast. We must have that work life balance and I'm fortunate to have flexibility to do just that. Without balance, our creativity engine just stalls. I remember earlier in my career where I was deep in the throws of a Data Centre migration. I was engulfed in it for months, planning every single detail and come zero hour, I was on site working 20 hrs a day for 3 days straight because these things had to succeed. Following the successful migration of thousands of server instances, I finally paused to eat, yes eat! You ever get that where a weird nausea kicks in, where you are so focussed that you can't even be distracted by the need for fuel? I've since learned better mechanisms but the message is still the same. Like a battery,.if you over discharge it, it never quite recovers to its best. Work is the same. Work life balance is key to success.
