Work-life balance is the key aspect of the employee's well-being, it plays a significant role in increasing productivity, engagement, and job satisfaction. Human resource departments can play a critical role in promoting employees’ well-being by establishing work-life balance initiatives and policies. These are the ways an HR can support an employee’s well-being:
1.?????Flexible Work Arrangements: The HR manager should provide the employee with flexible work arrangements such as telecommuting, flextime, compressed work weeks, and job sharing. This option allows the employee to manage his personal and professional life.
2.?????Clear Communication of Expectation: HR managers should ensure that managers and superiors communicate expectations clearly to the employees, and set realistic targets and deadlines. Clear communication can help the employee to plan and prioritize work and smoothly manage their personal life as well.
3. Time–off policies: The HR manager should implement policies to take leaves such as vacation days, a personal day off, and paid time off for medical and personal reasons. Encouraging the employees to take time off and disconnect themselves from the organisation for a while, so when they rejoin the job they have a fresh perspective.
4.?????Wellness Program: HR can develop a well-program that focuses on the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of the employee. The programs can include mindfulness sessions, general therapy sessions, sound therapy, stress management, etc.

5.?????Employee Assistant Program (EAPs): HR can provide the employees with access to EAPs that can help the employees with confidential counseling and support systems for employees facing personal or work challenges. It also helps the employees to maintain healthy work–life balance.
“Work to live, don’t live to work”
Hence, these strategies and programs can portray organisation's commitment to its employee’s well–being and help to maintain their work-life balance. Putting employees’ well-being as the top priority makes them more engaged and satisfied with working patterns.
All the best.
