Work Life Balance And Burnout
One of the serious risks associated with a severe lack of work-life balance is the risk of burnout. Burnout can occur independently of work life management and is also associated with work load and work environment stress. There is no doubt that improved work-life balance reduces the risk of burnout and provides a psychological safety net for anyone juggling a demanding job and a family life.?
While the majority of adults in our world are expected to have a family and maintain a regular family life, with adequate time spent on quality time with their children and some time with their significant other to support a healthy family life, adults are also expected to work and contribute to the family's financial well-being by maintaining a career and working in a business on a daily basis.?
When both partners work every day, the psychological cost of making necessary adjustments and compromises in terms of work is significant; the majority of compromises first claim the free and quality time devoted to family life and then shift to career or business needs. When someone has a difficult month, it is usually because something in the home environment required more attention than usual, creating a work load in the business; once the individual returns to work, he discovers that the work load is impossible to manage, and he can only attempt to get as much done as possible in the shortest amount of time, which usually means working nights and spending every waking hour.?
Typically, this stressful situation results in burnout. Avoiding burnout is not as difficult as it may appear; work life balance has a lot to do with time and life management; once you decide to manage your time and life more effectively, it will be much easier to maintain the work life balance you desire.?
The first step is to admit that you are unable to close the gap and that you require assistance, or at the very least the understanding of your business partner or supervisor; almost everyone understands that families occasionally face extraordinary circumstances and that things do not always go as planned; request a few minutes of conversation and explain that this situation has resulted in an overwhelming work load and that you will not be able to continue.?

Other options include focusing on yourself for a couple of days, continuing to work and perform household tasks as usual, but keeping an eye on how you are feeling and whether you end the day exhausted and without energy. If you notice that you are feeling drained on a daily basis, you should draw conclusions, speak with your partner about reducing your task load, consider changing your work hours, or even look for work that fits your life better.
