Jamie Foxx does well in comedy. He is not limited to that. So many comedic actors want to be taken seriously. Not only did he play Ray Charles which is difficult because he is so well known there is Collateral (that movie deserves its own article) not to mention Booty Call.

Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover

Booty Call does not sound like a movie one should fondly remember over twenty years later. As Tom Hanks brought out the best in Bachelor Party Jamie Foxx was instrumental in making Booty Call a better than average comedy. It's nice seeing women who are as interested in intercourse as men opposed to the means to an end.

Be That One in Ten Thousand

Will Smith turned down the lead in Django Unchained. He would have done well. He would not have taken it where Jamie Foxx did. I hope the movie he is currently working on is given a limited theatrical release the way Knives Out: Glass Onion was. He and Cameron Diaz worked very well in Any Given Sunday.

None of Us Has a Crystal Ball

There is more work to accomplish. Jamie Foxx has cultivated a legacy. Things can end quickly. Luther Vandross was performing and had a Valentine's Day show at Madison Square Garden right before his stroke. You never know when the final show will happen.

No one who saw John Lennon performing at Madison Square Garden in 1972 realized they were witnessing his last full concert. No one on Queen's 1986 tour thought that would be their last tour with Freddie Mercury. There is a fragility to life and it is important to do as much as possible.

That is one reason Tupac Shakur recorded so many songs. He didn't know how long he had. Not long at all. As someone who is prolific- it's alright to have a lot to say on a wide array of topics. At least I cannot blame it on the alcohol.
