WORK HARD. PLAY HARD.

WORK HARD. PLAY HARD.

For exactly 7,5 years I was wearing a Tableau T-Shirt day and night. “I ?? Data“, ?Data Rockstar'', ?Party with your data“, ?Are you Tableau?“ ?Data to the People '' and many many more. These were the messages I was stating again and again. To help people to see and understand their data, was my north star, mantra and ultimate goal.

At the beginning it was hard - Europeans, specifically Germans are very skeptical. We had to do a lot of singing and dancing, convincing people that our software was worth the attention. So we had to be creative and stubborn. ??

We did crazy things, but here is my top 10 of tipping point moments:

  1. Being able to use Tableau day in and day out - just love the tool
  2. Going to the football stadium when no game is on - The Tableau Stadium Tour brought us to 13 stadiums across DACH - people joined us just to get a stadium tour - they left us as Tableau fans
  3. TC Berlin 2019 - we brought together 2.500+ Data Enthusiasts in Berlin - to my knowledge the biggest ever data event in Germany - there was data in the air
  4. Eating popcorn for breakfast - the Tableau Cinema tour was bringing Tableau to the big screen - still remembering the excitement of my kids when I brought some of this popcorn home
  5. Presenting at the global Marketing Kick Off, explaining the difference between Hello Fresh and airplane food with Soila
  6. Data Driven Marketing Days in Berlin - rocking the house Berlin style - Philipp Westermeyer in the House
  7. Party with your data EMEA tour - rocking the top European party locations at day
  8. Global TC 2015 - experiencing first time that Tableau customers are fans
  9. The global collaboration around the Summer of Sports program - even if it was winter in some parts of the world - unbelievable what cool visualizations the community came up with
  10. The Curry Wurst event at 195 where we built the foundation for our strong partner community - kudus to Roland

Working for Tableau was the best thing which happened to me so far. I want to thank all the people who made this such a great experience, but let me call out some special ones:

  • My team for being by my side - I enjoyed every minute Christian, Mathias, Janis, JP, Rory, Sarra, Ali, Julien, Nicola, Emma
  • Henrik for being a partner in crime. Even if you don’t officially admitted it, you supported me and a lot of my crazy ideas in the background
  • Paul for referring me into Tableau?and being such a great partner
  • Susan, Lynn, Elissa, Jenn, Ed and James for hiring, leading and coaching me
  • Roland for being a good mentor and friend even in hard times
  • Tanya, Alex, Marcel, Jan, Pierre, Patrizio, Ralf, Peter, Timo, Oliver, Oliver, Jens, for being such amazing buddys for such a long time
  • Velina, Soila, Eulalie, Larissa, Irene, Cara, Jen, Alaina, Cate, Ali, Andy, James, Louis for your great collaboration around the globe - we did so many amazing things
  • Hans, Geoffery, Vincent, Rainer, Manuel, Michael, Stephan, Reeno, Dirk, Goetz, Markus, Artem, Tom for being such great partners for so many years
