WC Tip of the Week: Prep your Holiday Push!
Christmas is less than 50 days away! Now is the time to comb through your claims inventory to look for C&R/closure opportunities. Have a stipulated case open for future medical care? Value the file and push for a lump sum settlement. Received an MMI report? Get it rated and contact the injured worker with settlement options.
When you call, make it clear that if everyone agrees on a fair settlement amount, they can receive their settlement before Santa makes his rounds, but they have to act fast! Put it in writing too! Include large, highlighted font in your settlement offer letter outlining your willingness to cut the check before they start their holiday shopping.
For litigated files, push for an informal settlement conference to get it resolved! No response from applicant attorney? (Shocker, I know) Try phone, email, text, or even sending A/A a LinkedIn message. Be sure to mention settlement in your message. AA’s have year-end targets too so get creative!
Don’t miss out on an opportunity to obtain that closure or settlement before year end.
Note: For non-litigated cases, consider using an attorney or hearing rep to walk the settlement through. The one-time expense will be worth the additional reserves coming off the books!
