Work That Will Change the World

Work That Will Change the World

Just a few years ago, we set out our vision of a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion. Strategic investments made in electrification, software-enabled services and autonomous driving mean that we no longer need to imagine this future — we’re building it. These investments are enabling us to transform from automaker to platform innovator, into a company with the vision, the people and the technology to change the world.?

?One thing has remained steadfast throughout this period of transformative growth — our commitment to the people working to make our vision a reality. Now, we’re expanding our tech hiring to invite 8,000 new employees to join us on this journey. As we aggressively move on our growth strategy, we’re expanding the teams that develop vehicle software, engineer fuel cells to electrify industries beyond automotive, and advance electric battery design to actualize an all-electric future.

Our innovation is fueled by our employees’ passion, purpose and diversity. And they, in turn, are driven by the opportunity to not only work on some of the most advanced software and engineering projects – but the knowledge that their teams’ success can help put Everybody In an EV, and contribute to a safe, clean, more equitable world for all.

New hires will join incredibly committed teams, and a culture driven by the goal of being the most inclusive company in the world. ?In 2021, we received several recognitions for our success in building a strong workplace for everyone.?WayUp— a leading platform for employers to recruit diverse, qualified talent — named our intern program one of the Top 100 Programs. Additionally, DiversityInc named us one of the Top Companies for Diversity and LinkedIn ranked us on its 2021 LinkedIn Top U.S. Companies List. We’re building a diverse team of innovative changemakers who are ready to not only imagine a better world, but to help us build it.

“We strive to make General Motors the world’s most inclusive company, and a destination for top talent in all functions and areas of our business.” — Chair and CEO Mary Barra

We don’t just want talent to come to join us for one great new opportunity – we want you to stay and make your career here. We’re incredibly proud to say that, in the face of historically high levels of US workforce attrition across multiple industries, many of our teams have grown in terms of size and diversity, while maintaining a quit rate across U.S. salaried talent six times lower than the national average.

We attribute this success to our longstanding history of supporting our employees both at and outside of work. We’re committed to providing a positive, empowering work environment and generous benefits that prioritize the holistic well-being of our employees and their eligible family members. In 2021, we also announced our new Work Appropriately philosophy which, where the work permits, provides employees the flexibility to work where they can have the greatest impact on achieving our goals, be that in-office, remote, or a hybrid of both.

As we aim to fill these 8,000 new roles throughout 2022, we will work to build a diverse and inclusive team of individuals with strong skillsets across a range of tech areas and talent levels. Many positions have already been posted, and we will continue to post new opportunities throughout the year. If you’re ready to dream bigger — for yourself, your career, your family, and the world — we invite you to apply to join us.

It is a very important opportunity for everyone who somehow wants to contribute and positively impact society, this magnificent company with innovation, security and technology. It is great to have the privilege of working for this company someday because I see how much the leadership is involved with environmental, safety and innovation issues. I hope that one day my project and I can be embraced by this esteemed company and I say I will actively contribute to their vision in which we will achieve, with God's help, zero accidents through TCAS Automotive. I applied to the manager position in langhorne pa, I have all the skills and experience that they are looking for and not even given the chance to have a call and speak with someone and have them get to know me. I just get a email saying that I was not picked, but than the job gets re-posted and I am not able to reapply again. I’ve tried to contact someone to find out why I was not picked, but no way to find out. If anyone could help I would appreciate that and the chance to. Thank you
