Hotel Duty Manager work is complicated. Your Hotel Shifts takes you on difficult journeys, both up and down, left and right; You may feel up one day and down the next …
Sometimes we cannot see the truths that are staring right at us, it can be too painful, it cannot be fun; You must look at the truths of life in the Hotel and accept them.
Here are some uncomfortable and essential truths that every Hotel Duty Manager should accept.
Hotel Duty Manager Life Will Not Go as Planned. Life as a Hotel Duty Manager does not often go the way you like. It will not be fair and that is okay. It would be best if you lived your life with goals, not plans. When you realize that the Hotel Shift will not go the way you planned, you will trust that everything in your life is meant to happen that way.
Taking No Risk Is a Big Risk You must often take a risk to succeed.?It is better to take a risk than to have?regrets?later in life. The?tough times?can make you stronger and more successful. The wisest Hotelier has lived life to the fullest and the ones who overcame challenges have excellent stories to tell about their?life lessons.
Failures Are Part of Hotel Life You must realize that failure is always part of living in a Hotel. The sooner you can learn from your mistakes and failures, the sooner you’ll move beyond them. We will all fail multiple times during the shift. Some failures will make you want to give up in life. Failure is the road to success. Life is about getting back up and trying again.
Let Things or People Go In the Hotel you will meet a lot of people that are temporary in your life. Learn to let go of past hurts. It would help if you decided to take control of your shift today and celebrate your time in the Hotel. Be kind to yourself and focus on your current situation and how you can make the shift better.

Life Can Be Lonely We can become lonely in certain stages of our shift. These feelings of isolation arise in all of us. It’s possible to be alone in a room full of people. Whether you are young, old, rich, poor, happy, or sad, you are lonely during certain stages of your shift. Loneliness is subjective, not the number of things you do during your shift. ?
Everything is Temporary Don’t worry about the current bad situation because life changes. Everything in the shift is temporary. You could be on top of the world one moment and lying down failing in another moment. Your best and worst moments during the shift won’t be forever. When you think about life as a Hotel Manager, the only permanent thing is change.
You Are Responsible for Your Own Happiness as a Hotel Duty Manager Happiness is about being content with where you are in your shift right now. It’s about appreciating the little things and being content. The only person who can make a lasting change in your shift is you — no one else. Happiness can change by the hour, so you must?find ways?to increase your happiness.
People are going to die around you as the years go by, it’s inevitable. People you see as friends will not always have positive opinions of you. Your life will forever be changing, not many things in life stay permanent, don’t ever get too comfortable. Sooner or later, something in life will break you, whether it’s financially, a relationship or maybe a job loss.
It is up to you to Survive these things…
