Words of Wisdom Part 3

Words of Wisdom Part 3

It's a new year with new challenges, opportunities and stressors. If you are anything like me, some days will be amazing and productive, others you struggle to barely survive. On those days and moments of struggle, sometimes I need to try to process what is going on. Other times, I may need to focus on the good instead of the bad. And still others I need to remember to take deep breaths, accept what is and try not to focus on anything in particular. No matter what I need, reading aphorisms, stories and listening to relaxing music can usually help me figure out which path I need to take in that moment. In this ongoing series, I share some "Words of Wisdom" that I have collected over the years with whoever may need or want some different points of view on dealing with struggles and stress.

With that, I give you Words of Wisdom, Part 3!

"Sometimes, you just have to let go of your tight grip of how you think things should be or how quickly they should come together and simply let things run their own course. By releasing control and letting the currents carry you along, paradoxically, you gain more control—of your attitude and your response to what’s happening to you at the moment." ~Keri Olson

“You ruin your life by desensitizing yourself. We are all afraid to say too much, to feel too deeply, to let people know what they mean to us. Caring is not synonymous with crazy. Expressing to someone how special they are to you will make you vulnerable. There is no denying that. However, that is nothing to be ashamed of. There is something breathtakingly beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur when you strip down and are honest with those who are important to you. Let that girl know that she inspires you. Tell your mother you love her in front of your friends. Express, express, express. Open yourself up, do not harden yourself to the world, and be bold in who, and how you love. There is courage in that.” ?Bianca Sparacino

“The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.” – Michael

"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us." -Em Forester
