Words Mean Things

Words mean things.?

That's what my friend Kyle used to say to me whenever I was "playing small".?

I'd say things like...

"I'm creating a?little?course."

"I'm?just?a small business owner."

"I'm?trying?to build something great."?

And he would immediately remind?me that, "Words mean things." Then challenge me by?asking how I could rephrase my statements?more powerfully.?

"I'm creating a?life-changing?course."

"I'm a?proud?small business owner."?

"I am?building something great."?

Don't you feel the energy shift in these phrases? The person saying the first group has their shoulders slumped and their head hanging low. While the person saying the second group is standing tall, shoulders back, and walks with confidence. Now that's the person I want to be, don't you??

Are you saying things that may be diminishing?your?power? Notice how you describe the projects you're working on, your dreams, your accomplishments, and what you're creating in the world. We can only change our words when we intentionally listen to what we're saying and how we're saying it.
