Words matter
At DKB, we know like no other the effect that design can have. However, words also matter. Therefore, we approached spoken word artist Ivan Words and signpainter Tim Braakman to combine their skills in order to articulate the pride and perspective connected to our 150-year anniversary.
And so Ivan and Tim they got to work.
They went back to 1873 and took Hendrik Hubertus de Klerk’s very first shop window in Rotterdam as their starting point. From there they drew a line to the present, both verbally and visually.
Ivan’s poetry and Tim’s graphics add up to form a remarkable work of art, now on display on the window of DKB’s office in Moordrecht. The words of inhout are a telling companion to the stately image of a century-old armchair.
