BLACK LIVES MATTER; After the feet test, it’s time we get more than just knee deep!
By Akil A. Bomani
Well. Here we are. 2016. A new election for the highest post in the country before us and you can feel the unspoken vengeance of those whom cried out loud and daily and all day for the first six months continuously in 2008 before the whole world to witness via news media, shedding real tears and passing tissues and all, simply because the first “brother” that was recorded as being a “brother” due to perverted history (actually the eighth person of African ancestry including John Hanson, the very first elected President of the Continental Congress otherwise known as The United States of America) was elected as President of The United States of America (did you not see them just dying in their shoes!?), but, now ready to dance and drink and eat and make ill merry at invitational only “Tea Parties” as they feel secure again as if they know the next president will support their “views and values” and in “going all out” after years of planning, preparation, covert operations, and propaganda promoting with their Eugenic oriented programs (the bible teaches us that Satan has children…well, here you are…and in human form...master deceivers and how many have followed… committing many and varying atrocities around the world…perpetuating the long proven false doctrine of “race superiority”…how many genetic mutations and clones have they created to be sure to have proof that they were right?). You can see the deals being struck and the dollar signs in the eyes of those whom make the decisions that sacrifice our soldiers on foreign soils and humorously now, “in the name of democracy” and “the security of our values and beliefs” or the all-time favorite, “in the interest of national security”. And hear those directly responsible and preparing to benefit the most in terms of personal financial gain, but farthest from it casually singing in unison, “…and what’s wrong with that?” The fears and other emotions of the people have been played like a musical instrument being tuned and readied for “the show”. And as always the “go to” card has been dealt, again, and again, and again as racial tensions across the country grow higher and spread wider with each and every well placed news broadcast. And you know there’s about to be some trouble after every candidate debate nationally televised as they look as if they’re all trying out for the same leading role in a major opera and each is desperate and “willing to do anything to win” the part to make their careers and bank accounts “fly like an eagle”. But, what about “We the people…”?
“…And, here we are again, marching, singing, demonstrating, and shouting, “Black Lives Matter” in protest of, with the exception of history books, what should be a long forgotten evil by this day and time. And it’s not that I have anything against protesting, I am a supporter, but I feel it may make a significant difference if there were several hundred thousand to a million or two in each major city participating and the plans for the economic reorganization of the effected communities (i.e., the rerouting of what equals to approximately $1.1 Trillion dollars annually in African American buying power) were included and the actual law enforcement officers, fbi, sheriffs, marshals, dea agents, atf agents, lawyers, judges, politicians, teachers, doctors as well as other emergency medical personnel, etc. as well as all others whom feel in their hearts the same took a much more PROACTIVE stand; like, right next to those protesting. How about the redirecting of the community’s mentality towards the VOTE and politics as a whole? After all, politics, like everything else, but, especially “CHANGE”, is unbiased. It is and it has always been “Man” and “Man’s” willingness or unwillingness to do good and evil which determines the course of our fate on the unstoppable timeline of evolution. Readily available examples are otherwise impartial items such as money, positions of authority, and guns. It is the politicians, generally speaking, and not politics which has been corrupted. And most have been disillusioned with the whole process as “We the people…” have allowed ourselves to be treated like a $2 hooker each and every time votes are needed. And the ROOT of the problem all the while was and is not those lying, thieving and conniving corrupt politicians. It was and is “We the people…” and our failure to hold those whom we vote for accountable for their promises and their responsibility for our concerns when they arise. And what is this awful display of cowardice “We the people…” have presented after being completed disrespected by those whom we’ve elected over and over again (hence the analogy $2 hooker)? It’s as if we’re oblivious to the fact that politicians work for us (though this has not been the case it seems for maybe 20 years or so) but, who’s to blame? “We the people…”?! And when a “something” comes into your house and you find out it’s a snake, but you want to keep it and play with it anyway ‘cause you think it’s cute and it bites you, whose fault is it? The snake!? Not even if we were “…blind and could not see”. And AMEN. And so, this has to feel like “déjà vu” to most, but especially those of us whom try to stay focused on all relevant issues through the constant and seemingly endless and overbearing daily barrage of “chaos and confusion”. How we came back to a day where we have to march around with signs and singing “Black Lives Matter” as if the rest of the world “had no idea” is indicative of a very terrible and very telling place in time for “man”. Can you accept that a protest is only effective if the issues appeal to the moral consciousness of those whom the protest targets to correct a wrong? And what if they have no moral consciousness to appeal to for whatever reason? Just as a brief historical point, the first known use of the term "police brutality" was in the New York Times in 1893, describing a police officer's beating of a civilian. And AMEN. It would make a great PBS documentary series to unearth the whole truth as a final resolution to this as well as many, many other related issues and therefore, the eradication of this ignorance from the spirits of those with good intentions (the ill hearted will never be saved and it is just), for as the old saying goes, “the disease is the cure”. And though this as well as many, many other efforts towards the REEDUCATION of America and the world concerning TRUE and UNPERVERTED history are desperately needed on the FEDERAL level (and I’m hoping our President, President Obama, will assist with the bringing into LAW on every level the correcting of ALL history books and teaching material for all institutions of learning from pre-school to colleges and universities and making it a crime punishable by imprisonment to knowingly teach another falsehood about any part of history to any student under the guise of “EDUCATION” as it should be listed under “TERROISM” and would be JUSTICE as evidenced by our immediate situation that miseducation is the most probable primary contributing factor involved), that’s NOT what this commentary is about.
Here in the United States today;
- The percentage of African American aborted babies is close to 50% and that’s only of those recorded (a reported 483 abortions for every 1,000 live births according to a Centers For Disease Control CDC 2010 report).
- Due to many factors, including most of which are preventable, African American babies are more than twice as likely to die within their first year of life in infant mortality rates.
- African American child abuse rate, to include emotional/ psychological abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, medical neglect, abandonment, threats to harm the child, congenital drug addictions, and congenital sexually transmitted diseases are at a rate of 14.6 children per 1,000 of reported cases and highest of all ethnic groups.
- African American teenage suicide rates (10 to 19 years of age) approximately 8.4 per 100,000 in 2007 according to the American Association of Suicidology with such factors as eating disorders, drug abuse, sexual abuse/rape, divorce of parents, trauma, household financial problems, being bullied, social rejection, anger/guilt, relationship breakup, illness, disability/deformations, domestic violence or abuse, academic failure in school and grade retention, loneliness, feelings of being misunderstood, insecurities, extreme mood swings, loss of a loved one, mental disorders such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, and schizophrenia.
- African American teenage pregnancy live births were (15 to 19 year olds) approximately 38 per 1,000 according to the Centers For Disease and Control (CDC)
- African American teenagers (15 to 24 years of age) infected by HIV in 2010 accounted for 57% of all new cases according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
- According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), in 2012, African American teenagers (15 to 24 years of age) effected by STD’s (other than HIV):
- Chlamydia rate was 1,229.4 cases per 100,000
- Gonorrhea rate was 462.0 cases per 100,000
- Syphilis rate was 30.6 cases per 100,000
- African American teenage high school dropout rate (16 to 24 years of age) was 7.5 percent in 2012 according to the National Center for Educational Statistics
- According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in 2012, American public school students (15 years of age) were out scored by:
- 29 educational systems around the world in mathematics
- 22 educational systems around the world in science
- 19 educational systems around the world in reading literacy
- African American youth (12 to 24 years of age) account for 25% of street drug gangs across the United States according to the National Gang Center for 2014
- According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, approximately 6,000 per 100,000 African American youth (10 to 17 years of age) were arrested during 2014
- According to the 2010 US Census, the total percentage of African American adults of all incarcerated population is 40%
- According to the 2010 US Census, 26.2% of African Americans live in poverty in the U.S.
- According to the U.S. department of justice, 93% of African American victims were killed by African Americans during a period from 1980 to 2008
- According to the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCHWIH), 42% of the national total homeless population was African American
And I have purposefully omitted racial comparisons and the disparities that exist because they are unimportant relative to the issue. “Black Lives Matter” is a very powerful message in proper context and it is most true. But, the life on one aborted child matters, the life of one infant born diseased because of neglect/abuse during pregnancy matters, the life of one physically, sexually, or psychologically abused child matters, one life lost to a drug gang matters, one child afraid to attend school due to gangs matters, one teenage prostitute matters, one teenage suicide matters, one more life incarcerated matters, one more life victimized by immoral medical experimentations matters, one life lost to a hate crime matters, one life lost to any of the numerous Eugenic programs matters, another rape victim, another trauma patient, another drug overdose, another psych patient…all of these lives lost matter.
And so, though police brutality is a very tragic situation to continually suffer both as an individual and as a community, it is actually the very least of the ills affecting the lives of African American communities, the mental, physical, and spiritual health of our people, our family and community relationships, the health of our environment and safety of our youth and adults to be free from all forms of oppression, our state of consciousness as a group, our collective economic power as a group (buying power now worth well over $1.1 Trillion annually), the well being of our elders, the early childhood and adolescent development of our youth, the development of our adults as future leaders, the curriculums and quality of the education in the educational systems servicing our communities, the planning of our growth and development, progression, and strength building spiritually, intellectually, economically, socially, and politically as an ethnic group, nor the way we do business with each other as well as around the world.
Yes! “Black Lives Matter”! But, the MAJORITY of our pains are self-inflicted, despite all else, in this day and time. In fact all “outside” forms of attack, and yes, we are and have been under attack since the very first day we’ve encountered “the White man” and nonstop, are only as effective as our weaknesses. But the artificial barriers that have been used to “divide and conquer” us can and will be removed, the psychological damage from the traumatic American “experience” is treatable, the constant and endless suffering within our communities can and will be healed, the growing communication gap between our youth and our elders shall be reversed, and our “enemies within” shall be addressed. But, protesting to those whom seem to “frankly, not give a damn” will not “get the job done”. The energy and resources can be utilized most effectively and proficiently in other areas as developing competent community leadership to replace the Representatives, the City Council people, the Board of Education elected officials, the Sheriffs, judges, Mayors, and every other corrupted politician whom had no intentions of being representatives for the causes that affect our communities the most so that when incidents such as police brutality occurs, they have no qualms whatsoever in waking the Police Chief from his bed and holding him personally accountable for the actions of everyone under his leadership, being very intimate to be sure of a federal investigation of all parties/issues involved, and being very proactive with the affected community to address all underlying issues and concerns, and developing/implementing preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
And so, essentially, this commentary is about how the time is long past due for, African American communities specifically, but America in general as these issues reflected in the statistics are, for most groups, very detrimental to the health and welfare to and within each ethnic group, some good old fashioned “HOUSE CLEANING”. When you have a problem, is it not best to attack the problem at the root so that you are rid of the problem entirely rather than some other part of the problem and it continues to grow again, and again? This is where every ethnic group should attack all of the issues that affect their communities so that all of the citizens of these United States of America may, then, join together, again, as “We the people…”, much more stronger, wiser, and “resurrected” and in the name of happiness, peace, and prosperity for all whom are willing.
In closing, I’ve come across a quote that summarizes what seems to be a very viable plan to do just that and is just right for this occasion (smile)…
“…For MANY, it’s the top of another NEW YEAR! And we’re no where near where we want to be on this “ROAD TO RECOVERY”, but, we’re DEFINITELY far from where we were not long ago, right (I MUST SAY IT AGAIN, THANK YOU MR. PRESIDENT & COMPANY FOR YOUR COURAGE AND LEADERSHIP IN OUR HOUR OF NEED). Just IMAGINE where we could have been and KNOW that despite all else, WE are surely BLESSED to see this day as it is! And AMEN! And if nothing else, we’re supposed to be WISER (AS WAS THE INTENDED PURPOSE), right? In the INTEREST of the immediate APPLICATION of our newly ACQUIRED wisdom, my personal HOPE and prayer for this NEW YEAR 2012 is that our President, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, and his administration lead “WE THE PEOPLE…”, without ANY further delay, into the long OVERDUE and much needed WAR on the tyranny and DOMESTIC TERROISM right here within the borders of AMERICA that our citizens are made VICTIMS of daily; because of CORRUPT practices within many CORPORATE AMERICAN BUSINESSES AND INDUSTRIES; because of CORRUPTION and abuse of power within our FEDERAL, STATE, and LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND INSTITUTIONS; and because of the many SOCIAL ILLS created within our various communities by ILLEGAL DRUG DISTRIBUTION, DRUG GANGS, AND ORGANIZED CRIME ORGANIZATIONS as they hold our elderly citizens as HOSTAGES, misguide our youth and OBSTRUCT their proper educational development, and OPPRESS our communities with an "OCCUPATION" similar to any other TERRORIST "HATE" GROUP…like a plague. This is the WAR that “We The People…” desperately need our President to LEAD “…against our enemies…” (they’re definitely domestic) before we may MOVE further up the "ROAD TO RECOVERY" to "better days” with a renewed hope and SPIRIT as they are at the VERY root of most all of our suffering! Until the TYRANNY and TERROISM practiced via ORGANIZED CORRUPTION by some of America’s corporate GIANTS and major industries are DIRECTLY addressed through STRICTER LAWS, stiffer penalties, and higher fines, America’s ECONOMIC SYSTEMS will always be held HOSTAGE by those whom WITHOUT morale restrictions WILL to increase their BOTTOM LINES and place personal gains ABOVE all costs to include the deliberate STAGNATION of the economic systems, threat of HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT, less and less employee benefits, “MORE-FOR-LESS” concept gone left, as well as the full GAMUT of other blatantly corrupt practices by the EXECUTIVE LEADERS, Board Members, as well as personnel of some of the MAJOR CORPORATIONS and industries that have been overcome and GOVERNED by arrogance and greed (AND I WILL TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY AS THE LEAD IN THIS STRUGGLE FOR JUSTICE TO SPECIFICALLY MENTION THE RADIO INDUSTRY AS A MAJOR OBSTRUCTION TO ONE OF AMERICA’S LARGEST NATURAL STIMULOUS TO NOT ONLY THE AMERICAN, BUT TO THE WORLD’S ECONOMIC GROWTH UNDER ORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES). Many of these acts are done so at the EXPENSE of tax payers and FORCE not only the AMERICAN CITIZENS, but MANY American Businesses into FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, further increasing loss of potential jobs. Until “WE THE PEOPLE…” come to the REALIZATION that we are directly and wholly RESPONSIBLE for all actions of all ELECTED OFFICIALS within our Federal, State, and Local Governments from the moment we place our BALLOTS to the moment the next ballots are placed for those same POSITIONS, until we hold all of our elected officials ACCOUNTABLE for any violations to the HIGHER MORALE STANDARDS required by their PUBLIC OFFICES with no exceptions, and unless there is a COMPLETE auditing and overhauling of EVERY Federal, State, and Local Government Institutions’ accounts, FUNCTIONS AND PROGRAMS, governing laws, a RESTRUCTURING of the objectives and strategies of these INSTITUTIONS to align them with tomorrow’s NEEDS today in order to achieve a HIGHLY EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT, AND PROFICIENT government, and simply maintaining a STRICT POLICY of enforcement on laws ALREADY written, we will CONTINUE to suffer from the ABUSE OF POWER, waste of tax payers’ RESOURCES, neglect to capitalize on OPPORTUNITIES for growth through our IRRESPONSIBILITY, and have need for more TAXATION for sustainability. A FEW examples and suggestions I would like to bring ATTENTION to, and there may already be some WORK being done that’s not known in these AREAS, is the need for very PROGRESSIVE REHABILITATIONAL PROGRAMS (TO INCLUDE STRONGER PSYCHOLOGICAL PROGRAMS) as well as a restructuring of laws to reflect a TRUE deterrence WITH stricter sentencing (i.e., second offenses receive double time without parole no matter the crime, certain crimes receive no parole, harsher sentencing for sex crimes, especially those involving children, an environment more conducive to a rehabilitational institution, multiple offenses receive all the time (5 crimes totaling 100 years get the 100 year consecutive sentence with no chance of parole), any person/s serving in the judicial system or law enforcement committing offenses receive double time of offense, etc.) to counter the “CAREER CRIMINAL” and the “revolving door” PHENOMENON occurring in our penal systems NATIONWIDE year after year forming and even ENCOURAGING the subculture that has developed. I BELIEVE a stronger DETERRENCE to criminal activity will provide IMMEDIATE and positive RESULTS and a multitude of BENEFITS for our communities around the COUNTRY (OUR VARIOUS RELIGIOUS TEXTS CONTAIN MANY VERY GOOD EXAMPLES FOR PENALTIES AND I BELIEVE WE MAY REFERENCE SOCIETIES THAT CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THIS FORMAT AS BEING MOST SUCCESSFUL IN CRIME PREVENTION IF I MAY ADD). And until the TYRANNY and domestic terrorism of the DRUG GANGS as well as other “hate” groups and ORGANIZED CRIME ORGANIZATIONS are recognized, RECLASSIFIED, and treated as DOMESTIC TERRIOSTS with the same if not more FERVOR utilized in the pursuit of INTERNATIONAL TERROISTS AND ORGANIZATIONS, we will continue to SUFFER from exceptionally HIGH crime rates (burglaries, racketeering, money laundering, prostitution, illegal weapons, auto thefts, etc.), INCREASED violent crimes (murders, assaults, rapes, kidnappings, robberies, gang rapes, child molestations, child endangerment, etc.), DECREASED land values, decreased BUSINESS INVESTMENTS AND DEVELOPMENT, DECREASED employment opportunities in affected areas, and a “WAR ZONE” environment in which our CHILDREN and elders are FORCED to survive in. A RECLASSIFICATION of these crimes and ALL involved in their OFFENSES to include all persons assisting in any CAPACITY as terrorists will, also, REMOVE many, but NOT all, of the OBSTRUCTIONS for our children as they LEARN, play, and grow during their crucial DEVELOPMENTAL YEARS by significantly REDUCING the VIOLENT CRIMES, eliminating FORCED gang membership, SIGNIFICANTLY reducing teen pregnancy, TEEN drug use, teen dropout rates, SCHOOL ABSENTEISM, illiteracy rates, TEEN SUICIDE RATES, as well as the eradicating of the PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA as well as mental anguish that is PRODUCED by the “war zone” environment. The BY-PRODUCTS of this campaign include, but are not limited to significant REDUCTION in Medical budget expenditures CAUSED by drug related medical and traumatic CONDITIONS (DRUG OVERDOSES, HOMICIDES, SUICIDES, DRUG INFLUENCED/RELATED AUTO ACCIDENTS, DRUG INDUCED PSYCHOLOGICAL PATIENTS, BABIES BORN WITH DRUG ADDICTIONS, THE SPREAD OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES, BABIES BORN WITH SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES, TRAUMA RELATED TO DRUGS/GANGS AND VIOLENT CRIME, ETC.). As a citizen of this country and only ONE voice of “We the people…”, I PRAY as I humbly submit these CONCERNS to our president, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, for consideration as very real STRATEGIES and their intended objectives for a WAR on the tyranny and DOMESTIC TERRORISM that PERMEATES in every form and fashion THROUGHOUT the many COMMUNITIES, cultures, and subcultures within the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA as a very necessary component NEEDED to assist in achieving the OVERALL objectives of the PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA ADMINISTRATION. We’ve still got much MATURING to do (realization acceptance, state of denial elimination, massive reduction in the overwhelming ignorance that obstruct progress, spiritual and mental elevation, etc., etc., etc.), many OLD WOUNDS have not been allowed to HEAL, we should go back to GOD’S Law (but, at the very least, ENFORCE man’s laws with JUSTICE and equality for all as its TENET), and we have gravely misguided priorities, but, there is NO other place on Earth like America. I love it (BIG SMILE)! This is OUR home. And we’ve allowed the TYRANTS and domestic terrorists within our own borders to ROB us of our stability and peace of mind for so long that we ACCEPT this behavior as NORMAL. And so, WITHOUT further delay, may “We the people…” (I believe we’re finally ready), LED by the elected President of the United States of America, take up the “GOOD FIGHT” and make WAR on those whom have made war with us on EVERY level, from every angel, and in EVERY place until it is done and for OUR on sakes as well as our CHILDREN and our children’s children. And AMEN! This is the WAR that is needed before we may MOVE, without any other perceivable INTERRUPTIONS, up the "road to recovery" to "BETTER DAYS" and “The Promised Land”! I am more than reasonably SURE that this war may not REQUIRE even a small FRACTION of the $800 Billion SPENT totally on a recent campaign. And I’m reasonably sure ALL objectives may be OBTAINED and the war ended by the FIRST DAY of school NEXT fall if all parties are willing to “MAKE IT HAPPEN” (smile). Once applied, these STRATEGIES to significantly reduce the TYRANNY and DOMESTIC TERRORISM that has further CORRUPTED the fibers of our country will begin to REVERSE the destructive and SELF-DESTRUCTIVE CYCLES and their by-products and REPLACE them with highly productive cycles in our SOCIAL SYSTEMS that will produce HIGHLY INTELLIGENT, very progressive minded, very informed, and very INDUSTRIOUS CITIZENS; the desired product (smile). IMAGINE (SMILE)…. Operation: “CLEAN HOUSE”. As we enter the year 2012, it doesn’t seem to be an OPTION. I believe, at this point, “WE THE PEOPLE…” are more than willing… MR. PRESIDENT, it’s on your “GO”!?”

Now, I’m not a “specialist”, but I sincerely believe that this guy is “on to something”. “What say yee”, “We the people…”?
