Wordpress issues? Devise Interactive uses a specific solution.

You’ve heard of WordPress, probably have used it, and ran into the same issues. But does Gatsby ring a bell? GatsbyJS is a static-site generator: a valuable tool to produce lightweight, blazing-fast, and secure websites.

How we use Gatsby at Devise Interactive...and how you can, too! (Tech jargon for those interested)

When developing a site, our agency uses the ReactJS framework for the frontend, which will allow you to take advantage of the static site generator, GatsbyJS. This ensures that the browser begins fetching each additional page that the website is linked to ahead of time. Browsers don’t need to make additional requests for the next page, allowing for an experience that is noticeably faster than traditional page loads.

Even though the final product will be a static website, you will be able to uphold the dynamic functionality from WordPress with use of its REST API. The data is made available in its own GraphQL schema and allows integration freedom for frontend developers. The static data is generated with a click of a button and deployed automatically. It’s seamless, allows for continuous integration, and uses much less system resources. Say GOODBYE to heavy maintenance and lag!

Why are we taking this approach?

Essentially, the Wordpress instance only functions as an admin interface. Most people are familiar with the rich content-editing interface and enjoy the experience. Well, this doesn’t change. The WordPress lives independently from the frontend while maintaining all of the same benefits with an improved website infrastructure, minimal plugins, and effortless maintenance. Hello, HEADLESS WordPress!

A lot of companies look to Wordpress for a quick and easy solution. However, many outgrow their website within the first year. They feel the lag, less customization than they require, and then spend thousands of dollars to re-do the website.
