Word of the Year: FEARLESS

I don’t set goals anymore.
It took me well into my 40s to realize this, but setting goals has always messed me up.
Under the pressure of wanting to achieve a specific outcome, my body would go numb, my brain would spiral into overdrive, and my actions would become pushy and frantic.
I used to mistake that frantic energy for the magic juice I needed to get shit done and crush my goals.
But here’s the thing: while I was hustling like mad to create my “best life,” I was also having a parallel experience that totally contradicted it.
When I stopped trying so damn hard—when I paused, tuned into how I wanted to feel, and allowed myself to take simple, inspired steps—it was like the universe whispered, “Finally, you’re getting it!”
Now?
I set intentions.
For how I want to feel.
For who I want to be.
For how I want to show up in my life every day.
And every year, I choose a word that becomes my guiding theme.
This year’s word? FEARLESS.
Before I dive into that, let’s rewind a bit.
I ran a small group coaching program called Let GO & Level UP at the end of 2024 where we spent the final weeks of the year doing some DEEP work:
But not the kind of action we’re used to—the kind that has you grinding, pushing, and running on fumes.
No. This is about taking action in alignment with the version of ourselves we’re becoming.
It’s about EMBODYING our vision of the future, right here and now.
Not forcing.
Not “making shit happen.”
This was about learning to flow instead of hustle.
Is it easy? Hell no.
This is not for the faint of heart.
It requires serious unlearning and rewiring.
It takes guts to step out of the comfort zone of how we’ve always done things and TRUST that a new way can work.

Fear of change is so real, y’all.
It’s why we cling to what feels safe, even when it’s suffocating us.
And it’s why all the motivation bros have you torturing yourself in ice baths and shouting, "Iron sharpens iron!" and “Discomfort builds character!”
And they're not wrong.
Listen, cold plunges are cool and all (pun intended). But they’re not for everyone—especially if you’re working through unhealed trauma or managing autoimmune issues. But I digress. That’s a soapbox for another day.
The point is this: we have to train our brains and our nervous systems to stop running from discomfort and start leaning into it.
That’s how we grow. That’s how we level up.
And the participants in Let GO & Level Up? They blew me away by:
(All without cold plunging ...)
I’m so inspired, in fact, that I’m relaunching the program this year on a bigger scale and calling it FEARLESS.
So let’s talk about what being “fearless” actually means.
It DOESN'T mean NOT feeling fear.
It doesn’t mean ignoring it, shoving it down, or pretending it doesn’t exist.
Being fearless means:
For me, this year is about leaning ALL the way into that.
Case in point: a few weeks ago, I offered an investment opportunity in my business, and in doing so I'm now not just committed to myself, but obligated to my investors to level-the-fuck-up this year.
And yeah, that's a bit scary. So I had to do the work.
But that's WHY I'm so committed to sharing this.
If you want to get notified when the program launches, you can join my newsletter here and get all kinds of resources to help you level up this year.
In the meantime, I'd love to know:

Here’s to a fearless year ahead. Let’s feel the fear, move through it, and keep showing up for the life we’re meant to live.
