Word for the Week: Courage
Doing business takes courage.
Sharing an idea that might be rejected
Launching a new venture
Standing in front of a group and presenting and wondering if anyone will care about what you're saying or offering
Sitting outside the office of a prospect, taking a deep breath and heading in to make your pitch
Starting a new role and wondering if you still have it
Being a leader as people look to you for direction
Making tough decisions that impact more than just yourself
Putting your butt on the line to set a goal and attaching your name and credibility to it
Handling a tough customer service issue
Facing the pressures of rising up, and going out to earn a living for you and your family
and much more.
So where does this courage come from - and how do we get the daily fears that paralyze so many to subside?
For me, I cling to these words:
In quiet and confidence is our strength
It is in the getting quiet and being still that new ideas burst forth, the racing thoughts of what could go wrong go away, and courage rises. It is in that quiet space, that the words "Take courage, and do not be afraid" resonate.
Congrats to all of you who are swinging for it everyday.
I am glad to be connected to you.
